Today we check out how it would play out if we went for free experience per second only. While there are a lot of optimizations (or let's say, insanely lucky high rolls) that could catapult the entire thing up, I think it's interesting to take a first look and see how it performs in a normal, average run. And boy it didn't disappoint.

Technically that staff gives you more exp when you combine bonus projectiles with warped strike.
This is the 3rd game I've bought solely because of watching you. And it's a lot of fun, so thank you very much for always finding and showing off such gems 😊

Mr. Dex I appreciate your content and learn a lot from your commentary. I am not one to tell an entertainer how to do their show. That being said, if you are looking for ideas for more DMD vids, what about this: Summer, Winter, Lightening, no dragons, no legendarys, any character. Is this even possible on D30? Maybe as an alternative allow legendarys except no fire/ice dragons and no gear dragons.
It's definitely possible, it's even possible without attacking (+2 spell projectiles).
If you're willing to attack you can permafreeze anything with 30% extra attack weapon + wrathful strike triggering attacks constantly.
Actually Merris without attacking is one of my favourite ways to simulate that VS style.
They did fix the ball lightning glitch in the latest patch, tho they also hinted it's still possible.
Hi Dex. You mentioned something about experience in the beginning of the video. Did I understand well that XP shards are coming from not instakill enemies? That's quite sure that not all enemy drops shards, bigger and smaller ones, but I never find out how does it work. Is it depending on some kind of stats or it's just a random thing? Acctually more experience mean getting more shards from more enemies or just one shard contain a bigger number?
Something people always underestimate is not the value at the end of the run, but the marginal value at each step of the run something like early xp gives.
Sure, late game, you might only get one extra level, but lets say you level up four times in the first minute because of it where you'd only level once. Now you have three opportunities to hit late game scaling options like Wisdom, Mayhem or any other "every x (seconds/kills) do cool thing" or Alteration Ritual and because of the heavy early xp gain you can greed on early acquisition of scaling powers without really hurting your early power level.
That said, is it any better than 18% master offer chance? Probably not.
Ur gear is way better than mine, but I went for a %exp increase instead of passive exp. Normally, I'd get to about 65. But I had this 1 run where I got the "all boons are white, but u gain +111% exp" in the first min of the run, and I managed to hit lvl 68. With only white boons, it was really hard to get a lot of kills in the first 2/3 of the run. Normally, I get about 11k-11.5k kills when I get to 65, but this time, I only got 8.9k. This tells me there's a lot of room for improvement. Do you think you will try a % based build? I'd be interested to see what you can do with it!
You can get pandemonium multiple times. My record was 3 times in one run but you need shorter spell duration for that and banish anything that increases spell time. You can even go for the shrine that lowers spell duration for negative duration.
I think going for equipment with an xp multiplier instead of a passive xp gain will do much better.
Furthermore, going for the xp/hit and aging legendaries could be nice

@@xGaviJax yes it does. It's called gehenna lord for exp per hit legend and taste of time for 6% health decay per second.
5.0 exp is enough to gain the total exp you need to be lvl 26 by the end of a run, about 6k over the full 20 minute run. It’s definitely worth getting some, but also exp% is important to have for boosting the exp you naturally gain.
max level is 200, once youre out of boons to level up you just get the ping sound for every level. also the boon that gives you a random god boon every minute becomes useless as after 200 you cant get anymore, but before that you can basically stack up all of the boons there is

how do you have the space for all the items? it's hard for me to keep storage for items

My stash is full of uniques (most of them garbage) and half the inventory is filled with more uniques too. Then again I look at the (non-unique) drops and if it's not good I just drop it immediately.

master rolls out of control
With default 1.7 percent to level up master ability i got absolute none in the first 20 hours of gameplay. Guess he is just that good at the game
why not use the infinite pull ruin on this build?
+1 projectile is better than +14% attackspeed
Attackspeed is additive with your "Gem High"

2:35 I’m curious why you banish Warped Strike here. It’s more damage and experience. My noob brain thinks that’s perfect for your build.

You can get a lot more exp/sec. I have a relic with 5.5 xp per second, that's 2/3 of your whole equipement ^^.
Wait, for real? Can you send that to me? That is completely insane, especially because the unique has 1.5x, so that sounds completely unreasonable to have a none-unique that has so much more
Combined with the "1 skilllvl every 2 lvls" thatll give another 30+ more actual lvlups...

Why banish Warped Strike? It's free experience.
It only increases the damage to auto attacks. Warped strike is really bad after level 1.
To be honest most of the strikes are terrible after more than 1 level, Wrathful strike is fine(ish) for 9(?) levels if you're going for attack only runs but even that stops giving extra procs on levels 10-20. If I had a say in the development I'd make the strike levels meaningful and/or only have 1, 3 or 5 levels depending on the strike. I'd also redesign Mort's strike to actually do anything (enemies die to curse before they reach you after the first few levels anyway so it's literally useless).
On another note I'd also like to be able to limit runs to 1 god only.
I hate that u can stack gem high so high that your bonuses turn to 0 and u start again at +0...
I think it called intiture overflow or something...
You'd be better off grabbing a dash then banishing that specific one, rather than banishing all 3 dashes. it costs a level but saves 2 banishes.
But you also get a better dash (in most cases).
Using the sign of time space might have bumped up your ex gain even more :)

bro explain how 50% of what u get is masters w 1.4 chance. I see legit 1 masters a game if that with no equip to buff it. Every video too its all red.
i wonder why the devs werent able to up the graphics a bit..... i mean this is 40 years behind the time.....
It's a single developer who made this game as essentially a hobby who isn't interested in creating a graphically intense game so they instead put out this masterpiece of a game for an extremely reasonable price
