Congratulations. You’ve discovered the best rapper on the planet. It’s okay to be late to the party, Army will still embrace you. I’m a 47 year old horse trainer from Iowa, and I went to Chicago to see him last week, and it was the most fantastic, powerful, hype thing I’ve ever seen. This man can rap, sing, play piano, and play guitar and he writes and produced his material. All his lyrics are deep and meaningful. Hitting the sub button. Hope you watch more. 💜

Suga is incredible. His Agust D persona is what he uses for his solo songs. The trilogy of songs is Daechwita, then Haegeum and finally Amygdala. Suga had a hard time growing up and he created his Agust D persona to make music to express his innermost thoughts and demons. In summary the 3 songs show his changing personality through his life. First the greed to succeed and make money is the Mad King persona in Daechwita. He is deposed by the less mad personality who realises that he needs to set his feet back on the ground, money and success are not everything in life. This persona is the police detective in Haegeum who has become greedy and corrupt again. The more free persona kills that old persona. He has realised that money isn't everything and kills off that part if his personality. Is his alter ego Agust D now dead, no longer needed by Suga? In Amygdala it is more of a prequel showing the birth of the Agust D persona and showing the traumas in his life that caused it. It is a very personal and honest look into Min Yoongi (Suga's real name).
If you want to see the breadth of his abilities I recommend his songs People and People Part 2.

Haegeum has two meanings. It means lifting a ban and allowing something forbidden and it is also a musical instrument. 😊💜

  • @femmy-syahrani
    @femmy-syahrani Před rokem +46

Agust D/Suga is one of the three rappers in BTS. He's Suga when in the group and in collabs (Juice Wrld, Halsey, Psy) and Agust D in his solo work.
The Agust D trilogy can refer to his album/mixtapes - Agust D (2016), D-2 (2020), and D-Day (2023) - or his songs - Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. All good songs.
Whether his songs are all like this, well, he does have many songs that have aggressive rap like this, but he can also go soft. He even produces instrumental songs. In short, he's versatile. He wrote, composed, and produced this song himself.
Thematically, he does like to write songs that criticize society, but he also talks about his personal struggles, as well as about dreams and inspirational messages. His trilogy of songs is a perfect example. Haegeum is a social criticism, Daechwita is a flex song, and in Amygdala he bares his soul about his past traumas.
One thing for sure is that he's always honest with you. His lyrics are raw, passionate, and often blunt.

15:33 timestamp on your video - the other two songs in the trilogy.
    1-Daechwita
    2-Haegeum
    3-Amygdala
Watch the other songs in his trilogy, and yes, he is part of BTS - Min, Yoongi is his birth name, Suga is his stage name with BTS, and Agust D is his stage name as a solo artist. His style is this and other styles. He doesn't limit himself to one style, he loves music and holds no genre boundaries. He wrote and produced this song himself. He wins awards for his producing skills. He writes, composes, and produces songs for BTS, other artists, and his own projects. His album D-Day debuts number 1 on the Billboard Top Rap albums chart, which makes Agust D the first rapper in history to do that. not KPOP artist, Not Korean Rapper, just a rapper. He's very talented and successful. Also, Top selling album of any genre for his debut week, and first Korean artist to debut in the Hot Rap Songs Chart. He is touring right now, sold out world tour, and I will be seeing him in concert next week. Can't wait

AgustD is to Slim Shady as Suga is to Eminem and as Min Yoongi is to Marshall Bruce Mathers III 💜 and he grew up listening to and loving Epik High and Eminem and others in Rap and Hip Hop 💜 if you flip the letters of AgustD you will get Dtsuga = Dt (Daegu Town - the name of the underground hip hop group he was part of before BTS, named after his hometown of Daegu) then SUGA (his BTS stage name). 💜he uses “AgustD” pronounced like the month followed by saying the letter D, for his solo mixtape/album releases....he said this persona let’s him be more raw and direct.... he uses “SUGA” when performing as the BTS member persona.... ☮. Love him regardless what he calls himself😬💜 He has said this is the last of the AgustD trilogy [Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala). He has two other MVs for songs from his new album [the prerelease called “People Pt.2 (feat. IU)’ and ‘AMYGDALA’ which is very very deep and tells some of what he’s been through - caution watching it from an emotional trigger perspective]. He also has a dance practice video to this song. He also released some “live clips” for some of this tracks. Enjoy!

  • @jessjess3434
    @jessjess3434 Před rokem +26

He wrote and produced this song completely by himself!
Thanks for the genuine reaction! Yes, He’s SUGA of BTS. Agust D was created as a persona for him to “go hard” and respond to haters but he has mellowed out in his this 3rd solo album, D-Day, which just came out. He has said that he wants to share his music with less anger going forward.
Trilogy: 1. Daechwita from his 2nd album. 2. Haegeum from d-day 3. Amygdala also from d-day

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16.
Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music.
In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control)
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D".
Suga/AgustD was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) -
Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control.... he is a true genius.
This is the middle song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as -
Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others
Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society
Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place.
Hope you have a great day💜💜Sending Greetings from Australia

    Japan Chopstick Etiquette:
    1) Do not rub your chopsticks together
Rubbing your chopsticks together is seen as an insult in Japan. If you rub your chopsticks together it implies you’re trying to get rid of splinters because they’re cheap.
    2) Do not stick chopsticks into your food
If you stick your chopsticks upright in your food in any establishment, it is seen as a lack of respect because it’s traditionally done at funerals.
    3) Do not pass food to another pair of chopsticks
It can be seen as rude to pass food from your chopsticks to someone else’s. Put the food down on a plate or bowl so the other person can pick it up.
    4) Do not use one chopstick
Don’t stab your food with one chopstick. Two chopsticks should be used at all times.
    5) Do not leave your chopsticks crossed on your bowl or the table
If you need to put your chopsticks down place them neatly side by side next to your plate or bowl.
    6) Do not point with your chopsticks
Pointing with your chopsticks is considered very rude, much like pointing at someone with your finger.
    7) Do not take food from a sharing place using the chopsticks you’ve eaten with
If you can, find another pair of chopsticks to take food from a sharing plate. If not, use the clean, fat end of your chopsticks.
    8) Do not wave your chopsticks over dishes
It is also considered impolite to hover your chopsticks in the air indecisively above all of the dishes in front of you.
    BTS CHOPSTICK ETIQUETTE:
    1) Seen them do all of these things in Korea and in Japan LOL
    KOREAN Chopstick Etiquette:
    1) Rude among Koreans is if you stick your chopsticks straight into your bowl of rice. This is because it resembles what happens at a Korean funeral ceremony.
    2) Lay your chopsticks on top of the bowl or beside the bowl on the table which has chopsticks small ceramic 'rests'.
NOTE* For the symbolism of the red chopsticks. Agust D uses them to both eat and to kill. You kill to eat and you eat to live; the circle of all life. There are Asian rituals using red chopsticks to ward off spirits. In Japan red chopsticks with gold inlay and Kanji symbols represent good fortune. So who knows!
ADVICE: Look around and do what the locals are doing and you'll be good. Asia is AWESOME!

Chopsticks stabbed into food in bowls is how you serve the dead. So the living should lay our chopsticks across the bowl or by its side.
Some of us think that chopsticks is also a commentary on how we all have to kill to eat.
Haegeum = Lifting of forbidden things = Release from restrictions = Korean string instrument.
    Political. Or social. Or cultural.
His band mate was “caught” smoking and along with dating apparently this is a “scandal”’in the kpop world. Luckily BTS fans are mostly non kpop fans and don’t care. They are adults. Smoking and dating is part of a grown man’s life. So we think he is making a commentary on how ridiculous situations like that are for kpop “idols” and perhaps it is time to rethink things. I’d say “amen”.
He is a rapper in a kpop industry. Rejected by the hip hop community for being too pop and rejected by the kpop industry for not being “pretty” enough (toxic as f).
Combined with his past poverty and mental health struggles, this as part 2 of his Agust D trilogy is truly rich in lyricism, showmanship, heart, passion, and commentaries.

3:01 misconceptions. I went to Japan for weeks and that chopstick thing isn’t something many locals truly cared about, at least no one I hung out with or saw. If they’re literally sticking straight upright inside of the food, it’s frowned upon, though (it’s a Chinese/Japanese bad luck/funeral ref). In Korea, people eat however they want. I’ve seen people cut, saw through, and jab with their chopsticks, and even use spoons or forks in between.
This may be a generational thing, too. Millennials and under don’t tend to obsess over small etiquette things like that when it comes to eating…

cant wait for the next drop, he is a member from BTS! they do all sorts of styles so yes this is one of the styles he tend to go for but the drill beats are a first from him, he made 2-3 drill songs in his album D-DAY.
they all are immensely great!! SUGA (in BTS) or AGUST D , RM and J-Hope, if you loved this song you would need to react to their rap songs asap.

So technically, Amygdala is the first in the trilogy. It is the inception of Agust D, the split in his personality. Then Daechwita and finally Haegeum. I don't want to give too much away. But it will make more sense when you watch them all.

Yes this is his usual style. Yes he’s part of BTS, name Suga. He’s a rapper first, underground, before becoming an idol. Hence he’s (him and RM) received a lot of hate for becoming an idol. He has songs of course that clap back at those haters. That’s are always a fun watch. Agust D self title track and RM’s “Joke”

You might think you have freedom to say or do what you want but it can have consequence's for others you might not see eg it could mean the death of something else you've never even seen. Keyboard warriors cause the death's of some Kpop Idols in Korea due to the amount of hate they get via social media. Same with young people deaths due to cyber bullying in the name of freedom to say/type what you want. It could even extend that to 'It's my freedom to pollute the air but that could be killing people'
Notice he's smoking this is a huge taboo for Kpop idol's (not for BTS members they have freedom compared to other kpop artists) As Kpop companies can cancel the Idol's contract through them out of an Kpop Group if caught smoking and the kpop fans will on social media crucify any kpop Idol caught smoking. Suga (aka Agust D) says while talking about this track and his album 'I'm 30years old and someone wants to tell me what I can or can't do?' He speaking up against the other kpop companies and kpop fans. The members of BTS have never been afraid to rap and sing about taboo issue's, to rap and sing about topic's not normal for the kpop industry. Jin their oldest member even called out the Music Industries illegal practices in an acceptance speak while he and the rest of BTS were collecting a Music award.
The first part is on his previous solo album D-2 called 'daechwita' Then' Haegeum' and then 'Amygdala' which are both on this word record beating Rap Ablum D-Day. He's made a world record with this album as the only Rap Artist to sell 1 million physical albums on it's release day.

Min 7 I'll just say it, one interpretation is of a white man in US and the other of a Blackman in US. Freedom of expression could be the reason for someone's else death(not your own) would you still consider that freedom?... Like instigating hate, racism... That is considered free of expression in the US. Look at your problems not others... That don't stand as a flad of all freedom

So are you suggesting we watch the video in its entirety, take notes so we don’t forget what we wanted to say at certain parts of the song or video and then have a report ready at the end to go over like we just read a book?

@@Roblockdn I'm saying to not pause and state what is going on before you get to understand what the video could be about. BTS (Suga/AgustD) videos follow storylines from the BTS universe or from solo members their personal thoughts and life. Each member is different from the next and not the same as a group. Not saying to not speak on what is seen but it is best not to assume what they are conveying.

@@Roblockdn dude don't listen to @Cali_girl. It's ur channel, ur the ones making the vids, react the way u wanna. Only thing that's "required" is that u be genuine and respectful. I hate when people bitch about pausing. Like wtf are u watching a *reaction video* for if u don't want the person to actually ✨REACT✨ lmao. Sry, all my rambling just to say Do You, if some1 doesn't like the way u do ur reactions, they can always exit out of the video and move on. Or hell, maybe they can go try their hand and make their OWN reaction videos the way *they* want them done.
Anyways, have fun going down this amazing and insane rabbit hole😂💜
