Lyrics:
“Hi honey, just calling, checking to make sure that you’re okay
Love you, love you, talk to you later, bye bye”
Got the news at 2:15
God, I hope you left in a limousine
‘Cause you never asked for fancy things
And your last ride out should be a dream
I don’t know what I’m supposed to do
So I drive around and look for you
You always loved the garden patch
Flowers, earth, and tidy grass
And it’s a sharp right to a big box lot
And it’s not right but it’s all I got
I need a bag of dirt and a garden plot
Now I’m crying in the hardware store
Everybody’s staring but I don’t care
Have you ever lost someone before
You’d be crying in the hardware store too
I still don’t know what I believe
And it makes it hard to find some peace
Are you listening from the other side
Do we even realize when we’ve died
And it’s a sharp right to a big box lot
And it’s not right but it’s all I got
I need some marigolds and a flower pot
Now I’m crying in the hardware store
Everybody’s staring but I don’t care
Have you ever lost someone before
You’d be crying in the hardware store too
“You know she is my sweetheart”
“No she’s mine”
Now I’m crying in the hardware store
Everybody’s staring but I don’t care
Have you ever lost someone before
You’d be crying in the hardware store too - Hudba
WoW!
Leah your music has healed me in so many ways over the last 5 years. I lost my mother just over a year ago. I heard this for the first time tonight when she was heavy on my mind and it was exactly what I needed right now. I also found Joshua tree exactly when I needed it a few years ago and I just wanted to say thank you for your incredibly beautiful interpretations on life and for sharing them with us❤❤
I'm so touched by this Leah. So sorry for your loss. Thank you for your kind words 💜
Heard this on your shorts and wanted to hop in to say that this song encapsulated grief so well
Aw, thank you
This is really my song lost my mom last year but I still get the times where I cry not literally in the hardware store but somewhere public that everyone can stare but you are just too overwhelmed that you don't give af
