    I'm glad you like it,and it works for you.
    My biggest complaints about the 12 inch corded are.
    First am only 5'9 and the spring always pushes the saw to the back as I pull down.
    2nd The throat between the fences are to wide for nibbling small pieces ,if you cut under 3 inches to long ...you might as well throw it out ,unless you have a L-subfence .
    Lastly without cutting a vertical slot you can't see your cutlines.
    Excellent explanation of the features .
    Also if you need to adjust the bevel,there are 2 bolts in the rear.
    19 mm is to hold ,the 10mm is to adjust.

      Understandable complaints Chip. I personally dont have any of those issues with mine. I think sometimes it comes down to personal preferences.

    If you are keeping the saw do yourself a favor and get the 12ah battery. It’s night and day vs the 8 that came with it. I also came from the makita 10 inch. Got it on sale at Home Depot and hated every day using it. Lucky I sold it for what I payed for it. I love the Bosch. Great saw.

      No kidding! Man I'm going to have to get a 12 now. Thanks for letting me know. Yes that Makita is a total piece of trash. And it's a shame, I've always felt Makita makes great tools, but that is the second Makita miter saw I've been badly disappointed in.

    Biggest thing I learned when bevelling crown on the flat is to get those fence wings slid out of the way. You did it but didn’t say you were doing it because of bevelling. This is the one true thing that no one mentions in their explanations. Nice wooden extensions you got there. Oh BTW that rt sided pull-out support is difficult to take out as it’s catching on the saws quick release bracket. My LT side did this. I just took the grinder with a flap disc and took down the back side where it was just too long. Have a closer look you’ll see it’s likely this. And it’s likely the rear leg that’s long. Casting not quite to specs I’d imagine.

      After using this saw for a while I can tell you, I'm not huge on the laser. It's decent for cutting framing materials and siding. But anything that needs to be extremely accurate like trim, I disregard it. Adjusting it was a breeze though. Also I'm still running the stock blade. It's been pretty dang good in my opinion.

    How is your saw holding up
    Have you had any issues with the saw or the batteries not fully charging
    I just invested $1600 in the 12” Makita 40v and yes motor and power is smooth but everything else seems not worth that much

    • @miillersconstruction

      I have had a few Makita miter saws. Junk. Every one of them. And I have had fantastic success with pretty much every other Makita tool so it has been disappointing. The Bosch is holding up really well. Batteries are great, no failures of any kind, and the batteries charge pretty fast. I have absolutely no regrets!

    I have no idea why people use the stands that you have to take the saw off and fold up. I would never use anything than a gravity style stand. Even loading into a pickup is easy. You just wheel it over tilt one end onto the tail gate and lift the other and slide it in.

    This is the first video I see someone complaining about the makita saws , and actually I tested that particular bosch saw and didn't like it at all too much head deflection and the controls are very finicky, can't afford kapex went trough dewalt and milwaukee, dewalt was better but motor didn't last long , milwaukee is actually piece of trash the 10" cordless , so my last option is the makita 12" cordless mitre saw , it's the most durable to me , what other problems did the makita had?

    • @miillersconstruction
      @miillersconstruction  Před rokem

      Well your not only the first person to tell me they didn't like the Bosch, but also the first to tell me you actually like the Makita saws. It's a pretty well known thing that the Makita miter saws are garbage. The motor is the only thing decent on the entire unit.

    • @agent7agent759
      @agent7agent759 Před rokem

      @Miillers Construction not sure if that specific bosch unit had flaws I own few tools from bosch and I am happy, but I went trough so many mitre saws and got disappointed, I am eyeing the makita 40 volt 12" or dewalt flexvolt 12" did you had any experience with dewalt? Seems ok from the reviews on CZcams I always thought makita is second from the festool kapex in terms of accuracy and quality, can't afford the kapex and thought makita is somewhat closer and more affordable, is there head deflection on the bosch?

    • @miillersconstruction
      @miillersconstruction  Před rokem

      @@agent7agent759 I personally haven't noticed any had deflection in the bosch. That being said, everyone I've talked to raves about the DeWalt. Stay away from the Makita I'm telling you. If you're worried about deflection, go with the DeWalt 100%. I have nothing against Makita tools, I've been a fan of they're stuff for years and still own quite a few of their tools. They can't make a miter saw to save their lives. The detent plate of the Makitas are so bad there are companies making aftermarket plates to replace the factory plate.

    • @agent7agent759
      @agent7agent759 Před rokem +1

      @Miillers Construction I took the plunge today and got the bosch gravity stand and the makita 40v 12" mitre saw , came out square from the box
      It's very heavy and solid
      As a deflection it's really minimal same as festool kapex because I was testing them both at the store , the detent is absolutely perfect ( maybe they improved) from the last models , I did cut with the makita stock blade a 2x6 lumber and checked with a square it was on the dot , very smooth rail and I have it paired with my festool vacuum, not good as kapex but about 70-80% dust collection versus my crappy milwaukee that was shooting dust all over the place, overall I am very happy and will test it from Monday on the field , doing coffered ceilings, will let you know if things go south with the saw , thank you for your replies 👍

  • @realworldcarpentryremodeli5868

    Why the 12” saw if you cut crown molding flat? The only reason for me to buy a 12” miter saw is to cut base and crown standing up.
    I do like the Bosch saws but they are way too heavy. I don’t have mine set up like you . I do like your wing to stand connection and the wings look nice too.

    • @miillersconstruction
      @miillersconstruction  Před 2 lety

      I don't just cut crown molding with that saw. I cut all kinds of things being a remodeler. My last saw was a 10" and several times I found myself frustrated not being able to cut larger materials. Also Bosch doesn't currently offer a cordless 10" miter saw. I hope that's enough reasons for you 🤣

      @@realworldcarpentryremodeli5868 awesome man! I think you'll like how it works. I don't mind the size or weight because that saw never leaves my Bosch gravity rise stand. I have a cargo trailer with a ramp on the back so I literally never have to lift the saw. And I move it all around. As a remodeler or on different job sites sometimes everyday and I'll set that saw up constantly.
