As an antique rifle collector for a few decades, Royal Tiger is a huge buy esp if you are at least decent at restoring firearms. The way antique prices are some of their deals are steals, even some in beat up conditions
My RTI original NO 4 MK 1 is similar to yours, has no cracks but I didn’t pay hand select; my b grade NO 1 MK111*, I paid $50 for good bore and the bore is somewhat bright with strong rifling, not a lot of bluing left, but the stock is well used, no cracks, and the wood is complete around the rear sight.
Its good to see you back. I want to the risk on getting some rare firearms from them but they are so spotty and their grading standard is dog shit. At this point I believe the owner is trying to get his money back from his shitty investment in all this Ethiopian horde bs.
I agree with you about RTI. They are spotty at best. I have gotten some very good rifles from them and I have recieved some complete garbage also. I have a 1943 Longbranch No 4 Mk 1*. The bolt jumps out of the track and there is nearly no rifleing remaining. It's a total pig. I also have a No 1 Mk 3* made in 1942 by BSA. This rifle had no finish left but had a passable bore. I paid for the good bore option. I purchased a Mk 5 Jungle Carbine as well. I again paid for the better bore option. This came with a fantastic bore and had the proper type of bolt as well. Not numbers matching. Lastly I bought a M91 Carcano as well as a Lee Medford and a Berthia 05/15. All are total junk. Not safe to shoot either. By the way, your No4 is a Mk2. They were made right after ww2. Big difference is the trigger is attached to the receiver. Cheers!
Ohh thanks for the correction I did see people saying there No4 Mk 1 is a MK2 but I had no idea what that meant till now! Yea I just wish RTI would be honest people would still buy the junkers as a gunsmith special for sure.
I never buy the "sale grade" or deep discount stuff. I would expect most of those to be parts guns, that may have potential, or those that were returned from regular price buys.
My AK parts kit, a Romanian M65 was the A grade numbers matching option. The kit looked new. Even a 1977. However they swapped out the furniture for some well used ones so they can resell it for parts. I'm assuming. The gas tube isn't matching. RTI list it as they can only guarantee the main parts will match. This gives them room to salvage for the parts they want to resell. The parts kit is on my Chanel if you want to go see it. I over looked the gas tube on the review. I will be making a corrected video soon. The RTI M1 carbine I got came out nice.
I will check out your video thanks for the comment. Glad your carbine came out nice yea that doest surprise me that they took stuff out of the kit and swapped it
I will say that u can find a nicer smle if u loom around for the same price. I just bought an all matching 1916 enfield mk3 mint bore still in cosmoline for 600$
Yea your right but there not that different. My buddy took a 303 round he had and did the bore test on his SMLE and it ate the hole round up to the neck as well.
I got 2 B grade No 1 Enfields and they had better bores than their higher "Original" grades. It's hit or miss, I feel their grading is mostly meaningless. You get whatever they grab off the pile which can work for or against you. I've gotten some unique/rare rifles from them that usually fetch much higher prices.
@@ryantyson2008 I would rather spend more on an auction where I can verify the condition and pick the manufacture of my choosing when dropping that much coin. Lesson learned. You might get lucky though...mine were bought throughout the year 2 years ago. I guess they could have gotten better?
