    I love the camera work on this video. I can clearly see the layouts in the game, and know which balls are which. Hats off to who setup the cameras.

    you are 100% right. mike siegel was perfect example of weighing percentages and creating a win out of a bad situation. 10 years plus ago Earl knew he was out from everywhere so his thinking game was not as good as it is today. Earl deserves credit because in 2001 he hit a slump that lasted a few years but he did not give up. i still believe "if" he is playling his game he is still the best 9-ball player, break from box or side rail. 2000 US Open he could have given all the 8-ball or 2 on thewire

    Earl was undefeated, Warren had 1 loss. If Earl was to win 8 games first, Warren would have 2 losses and be eliminated, Earl winning. If Warren was to get to 8 games first, that would mean that Earl would then have 1 loss. So in order to save time and not play an entire new set, they extend the race to 11 games from 8. So adding another short race on the end of the match saves another hour or more of play. If that was not clear I will certainly try again.

    page #2 we planned on being a pro nine-ball player for the first 20 some years of our life and can do that for a living do not have the financial possibility of going to majority of events. Derby-City, US Open,(and you might not get paid some of these events, how can you fade that with cost of living), maybe a New-England mini tour or tiny southern tour the chances of finishing high and beatting the total travel cost is hard.! interest sparks with a pro tour. players in top 32 should get salary.

  • @Quatsch83

    First few racks begin at 1:11:20, not at the beginning of the video. But if you don't want to know the result make sure you go to 1:11:20 or later and not before...

    7:30 Earl plays position for a 2-4 carom to leave the CB and 2 in a position to break a 3-ball cluster and land perfectly on the 5. That's some next-level s*** right there. I think he's an ass, but he is an absolute master of rotation-game pool.

  • @Onesimus747
    @Onesimus747 Před 11 lety +1

    Earl is not as bad as people think. he is his own worst enemy and it haunts him. if you were on the side of the road with a flat Earl is the one or two top players to stop and help you. he has a great heart, not around pool, but thats ok. when he was inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame he asked for forgiveness for his past behavior and that he was trying to change it. he was teared up so i think he told the truth, that maybe a problem also cause he has no prob telling truth that may offend

    i don't know who the commentators are but you are right!!! about trying to actually organize a pro tour. the reasons of faliure in the past was an assortment of unethical things. the women, who no offense, are more boring to watch on TV than antiques roadshow, they went on and came up with some kind of marketing strategy that works. THIS IS WHAT I AM REALLY TRYING TO SAY; US MALE POOL PLAYERS ON THE EAST COAST AND NATIONALLY ARE JUST WAITING FOR THIS!!! some of us who are 35 or so planned cont.

  • @worldalvin

    thats crazy how that happened. I dont know what the deal is with that

  • @bobbylight111
    @bobbylight111 Před 11 lety

    I disagree, I think this is a fairer way to play. It does take the two-way shot out of the game (mostly), but this way a player is never rewarded for missing a ball, and therefore you can get away with a shorter race giving a representative result. I would say planned two-way shots, while impressive, account for *maybe* 15% of situations where a missed ball results in a hook. More often a guy will just get away with missing a shot he never expected to dog, which in a race to 9 can be huge.

  • @jonny0204
    @jonny0204 Před 11 lety +1

    I'm not implying you're one of these people but safety play can ruin games. There's a lot of players i see who take the safety play religously and won't play a shot without thinking about "will I get the white safe if I miss." Their argument is always that they're being smart etc but they rarely get to the point of being able to make full table clearances because they cannot bring themselves to play a risky shot. Each to their own but I think the majority prefer agressive play.

    • @joshuahaynes7128
      @joshuahaynes7128 Před 6 lety

      Jonathan Martin if your playing against a guy like earl u better run out plain and simple unless u have to play a safe ofcourse... but i agree with what your saying .. most top level players like earl are aggressive

  • @Onesimus747

    back when Ginky was in dead punch apprx. 1997 much trash talk between Dante,(Warren's backer) and Ginky play even 9-ball. Ginky shoot a whole through Warren and then it was, "Ginky cannot win playing 10-ball then Ginky beat him worse playing 10-ball. it was at Q-Masters in Norfolk, VA. Warren prob played best then that i know of but Ginky had 5 years were he may have been best on East Coast. and Johnny's great but if Earl is on it doesn't matter if the play straight pool, 9-ball,don't matter

    you could play like s*** but if you win and get the cash, that is how you rank the best players out of a big group of good players these days. Earl trully has a kind heart, just not about pool, Warren is also a terrific person. he spent a year or so in my area and he is a class act. he can turn into a machine and run out all week. if he had a better break i think he would be in the tier of Efren and Jose. Jose Parica could use a break also. Efren's break is underated. Jose gets the cashapprx100%
