    Bhagavan Sri Sri Sri Ramana Maharshi Ki Jai!! Few words, but many tears of joy at the sight of so many memories and beautiful photos and videos of Bhagavan.
    In 1982 I was inexplicably drawn to a local bookstore in Tucson to check out the "spiritual wisdom" section. Paul Brunton's "A Search in Secret India" almost leaped off the shelf at me. It was an original hardcover edition, dated 1935, which I still own to this day. I've read it cover to cover numerous times. This was my introduction to Bhagavan, about whom I had previously never heard a thing. There are no words to convey the depth of my relationship to Him, no words whatsoever....

    “Become conscious of being conscious. Say or think “I am”, and add nothing to it. Be aware of the stillness that follows the “I am”. Sense your presence, the naked unveiled, unclothed beingness. It is untouched by young or old, rich or poor, good or bad, or any other attributes. It is the spacious womb of all creation, all form.”

      Is it really a realization - in order to realize something there must be someone to realize? Then there is a duality. It seems to be more a complete derealization from the conditioned and unconditioned ego to allow that which purely emanates.

    It is hard not to notice in addition to being so eloquent and heartfelt in their comments these people are all so physically radiant and beautiful. And they all lived such long lives under physically austere conditions amongst a large number of random associates with wildly varying motivations, intentions and capacities. Who knows of some good biographies written by long-term residents of the ashram?

    Perhaps somebody can explain me: Indian mystics often use the example of the sleep (1:05) and ask: „Where are you when you sleep? Where is your I, your identity when you sleep?“ So far, so good. But in sleep, consciousness also is absent. Shouldn‘t the real consciousness still be there if it is not bound to the body? Where is the unpersonal consciousness in my sleep or in an anesthesia during a surgery…? It is switched off. Doesn‘t that mean, that there doesn‘t exist a consciousness apart from the body…?

    • @Hexhex66

      @@Anonymous00845 Ah, okay, thank you very much for your explanation! Have you already experienced that?

    • @Hexhex66
      @Hexhex66 Před rokem

      @@Anonymous00845 Thank you again for this very good explanation of this process! I’m sure, it’s an accurate description. But I have to say that Karma is but a concept. It is a man-made idea about rebirth and its rules. I think, in pure awareness and in Brahman there are no concepts anymore, no ideas and theories.
      I hat two (non permanent) awakening experiences when I was young. The first one revealed to me that all is well. Everything. No matter if it is a tree, a bird, a tram or the airplance crossing the sky above me. In the second one my sense of I vanished completely (after a kind of near death experience). There was no me, no ego, no karma, no aim, no path, no time.
      I think we mustn‘ mix the pure experience with traditional concepts, but become free of them. Karma only exists, as long as the ego exists. We shouldn‘t think too much about Karma.
      You wrote, it is a long path to complete realization. But many awakened sages received this mercy within a few moments and without a long path of training, meditating or using techniques. It is a grace, not something we may achieve. The idea and the conviction of a long path does make the path long. :-) It even may impede awakening. Franz Kafka once said: „There is a goal. But it is here. What we call the „way“, is but hesitation.“

    • @Hexhex66
      @Hexhex66 Před rokem

      @@Anonymous00845 Okay, we‘ll not come together in this point, but that‘s allright. Ramesh Balsekar (authorized as teacher by Nisargadatta Maharaj) also says that Karma is a concept („Sin and Guilt - Monstrosity of Mind“). And that it doesn’t fit with Advaita, because Karma needs two things: a personal doer. And the rebirth of the individual persona. Both is for example denied by the Buddha, who said: „Events happen, deeds are done, but there is no individual doer thereof.“ However, we shouldn't get lost in theoretical discussions, because one thing is sure: discours doesn't lead us to the goal. 🙂🕉
