Season 5 Episode 8: Great Sword Anti-Alatreon Build
In this video, we take a look at some Anti-Alatreon Builds for the Great Sword in MHW Iceborne. Remember that stats are stated while your character is idle with no active items or food buffs. While some jewel buff will be in effect like maximum might, the video should give you a sense of the type of build I'm going for.

Before I even watch, I’m so hype because I just beat him today with GS and upgraded my dark demise LS to rarity 12. Only took 1 win and about 50 or so losses lol. Plunderblade OP.

Actually the reason why great sword can mitigate his power is because the devs actually scaled the elemental damage required to do so for each weapon
It is but only 10% more than other weapons (which to be fair is fairly nice)
Gunlance got the short end of the stick but it is still possible to kill him with gunlance probablt
@@cloaker609 you can with the old style of gunlance that I used to only use before it became redundant MELEE GUNLANCE!!!

That clutch claw kill at the end though
He missed a lot of charged attacks. So you can tell it’s not his main weapon (I’m same way) so as long as you know GS basics and learn alatreon attacks it should be doable
No it's not you have to equip the right build or you will cart with every supernova the Alatreon does
I think the first build would be better with an Agitator Charm and slotting in the fire attack jewels normally. This would bring you up to 70% affinity and since alatreon has good hitzones, you won't need to tenderize to get to 100%with weakness exploit. And you want him enraged since he takes 20% more damage, really helps you get through the fight before nova's get to you.
The Safi set give you 40% affinity when weapon is drawn as it is so then adding wex and something some as a few crit eye jewels or might jewels you're set without having to be so skill dependent trying to slot in agitator.... Hell vitality/might jewels drop from zinogre with ease
@@danielkaler569 my comment is is reference to his first set shown using kjarr king (or stream) since those have 20% base. It's not even skill dependant, since all my suggestion does is basicle swapping the attack jewels out in favor of agitator... And honestly giving advice to run max might lol

It's probably 2 sharpness V (necessary for purple sharpness), 2 elem up V, and one elem up VI. If you wanted to, you could swap out one elem up V for Velkhana Essence, then run 3x Velk 2x Raging Brachy for Agi 7 AND Frostcraft.
EDIT: Or 2x Fatalis (instead of Raging Brachy) to unlock Agi 7
For Safi Build can i use Frost Fang Barioth and sadly i dint get the chance to get the Elemental Crit Jewel
I’m a returning world player and can’t really get safi armour and weapons because nobody does them anymore is there any way I can solo safi?

Why, why everyone uses jewels nemes instead of skills names? Is that because US imperial unit system is not complicated enough?
Would it still work if I used two pieces of velkhana armor and three pieces of Teostra armor?
How do you have critical element 2:46 when you already filled up your deco slots 1:55 and none of them are critical element?
velkhana bonus set gives you critical element

@@Shrbrt it comes from kjarr weapons, he is using the fire kjarr GS. they have critical element built in. they tend to have not the best sharpness so he is also using protective polish jewel to counter that. if you need strong element weapons, i highly recommed doing master rank kulve taroth, its worth it.

@@zoheebzafar7619 man I gave up 6 months ago. I just can’t, I have to hunt way too much for rare materials that have a small chance of dropping. This fight is just impossible because I put all my time and effort on raw damage but neglected the whole element stuff because I thought skill alone was enough. The longest fight I’ve been with alatreon was literally 40 minutes

Why put out a video for each weapon when there all kjar and safi just make one video saying put on all safi and what ever kjar weapon you have.
