Death Note wasn't a bad movie, it was just a bad adaptation of the anime. If you have never even heard of the original material, you will more than likely enjoy this movie.
Man, it thinks, This movie did not follow almost nothing of the Death Note Original, But it was a Film that tried to deliver an adaptation at least to the anime faithful. The characters of this adaptation were very cool .. Accept that it hurts less ..
Yeah, I love love love the original anime and have been intending to read the manga for years now (I'm just not the best at focusing on graphic novels), but I still really enjoyed the movie as a standalone. I told myself from the beginning that it's not canonically associated with the original and that it's almost like the child of a famous celebrity trying to make a name for themself without their parent. Just like Margaret Qualley has a name for herself apart from her mom, the Netflix Death Note is similar to, but not by any means the same as, the original.
Glad someone said it. It wasn't a Bad Movie but it was a Bad Adaptation.

that basically means that the intention of the movie was good if it was not an adaptation, but it is, nothing changes that, in fact i think that the ones that were not familiar with the story and enjoyed the movie will probably watch the anime at some point and realize how good it could have been

This movie didn't do the anime any justice.
It's no problem if you change some things for a good adaptation, but they literally took everything that made the anime so brilliant and turned it to shit. For me it's like Adam Wingard just spit in every Death Note's fan's face...

NF Death Note sucked, plain and simple.
I seriously don't understand this cast. It's absolutely horrible and nothing makes sense. Maybe they are "good actors" but that doesn't mean they can play every anime character. When I look at someone I want to feel the same energy that I get from the anime character. Nat Wolff doesn't look like Light and he also can't act like him. Even if he would dress up exactly like Light he just can't be him. I don't know which word to use but I will call it charisma. He doesn't have that charisma. He is just a crazy looking guy who looks like a drug user and he is fucking arrogant. Light is arrogant too but he has also charisma and there is no charisma in Nat Wolff. That Wolff guy even says here that he wasn't really a fan of Death Note (anime.) Misa Amane in this movie looks like a really normal girl that you can find everywhere and her acting is the worst. In the trailer she just said one line and I immediately started cringing. Oh and yes there is L. Well that one is obviously really wrong so I'm not even going to waste my time to explain it. I just don't get it. Why are they ruining such an amazing anime? Is it so hard to make a good movie without ruining the original? I swear to god, all the people here who are complaining like me could make this movie a GOD,

moonwitch wrong. Not everyone hates it. No ones even seen it yet. And I know some people might not like it and support your opinion but it was the way you were talking about the actors. I haven't watched the original anime one but I understand that most movies shouldn't have a remake. Honestly if I were you I'd watch it once or never and if you don't like it just forget about it and respect that these actors have a job to do and that's entertain the watchers.
