    Gorgeous car. Even in 2021 the SAAB looks more like a plane than a car.

    I’ve been a proud owner of a almost fully specced NG9-5 Vector (No drivesense or rear seat entertainment). The ride comfort is okay at times, but mostly it’s a bit harsh on bumps and the feel of the road is kind of passive. I’m planning on changing the oem springs to Eibach ones, a few people have told me that the ride quality improves massively with this small upgrade.

    • @TechCars
      @TechCars  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for watching! They are very different cars I think. The TurboX is much more harsch drive. The chassis is very stiff. Feels more like a car that you bring to a trackday rather than everyday driving. II haven't done any tracks with it. I'm just driving it every now and then in summer time. The TurboX software is programmed much more as a RWD. You can feel it when taking off that much more power is put into the rear of the car. I don't feel that in the NG9-5 at all. The NG9-5 is much bigger and it feels like driving a luxuary car with a very smooth ride (thanks to the drive sense system). Looking at figures the TurboX has a stage 1 305 bhp and 460Nm and the NG9-5 Hirsch 330 bhp and 430Nm. The NG9-5 should make 0-100km in 6.1 seconds but I think I've seen someone do it under 6 seconds. The TurboX is probably around there as well with the automatic gearbox. Two very different rides though.. I'll see if I can make a similar video with the TurboX :-) Here's the link to the Hirsch Performance site, saab.hirsch-performance.ch/produkte/leistungssteigerungen/9-5ng-2010-2013/benzin-9-5ng/2-8t-turbo6/ BR Markus

    As someone who’s fortunate enough to own a ng9-5 with this Hirsch tune. I can confirm it pulls and pulls and pulls. It also sucks and sucks and sucks fuel 😅 we also have a ng9-5 Turbo4 - perhaps there’s something amiss with my Aero’s hyper-struts but, I find both suspension set ups to be more than comfortable.

    • @TechCars
      @TechCars  Před 3 lety

      Yeah :) If you step on it it need some fuel to move that 2 ton heavy body. The TurboX that is less heavy drinks even more ;-) Both chassi setups are good. It's just that when you push it with really big wheels the drive sense system is much more forgiving. Thanks for watching and have a nice day/night :)

I think the car is too heavy to notice 30ps extra on those 1900kg. You can feel the extra force if you know your car well, but I struggled really hard to notice the difference. Have been tuning older saabs for 10 years now, so I know the feeling and smile people get when tuning "stage 1", this is far from that wow-feeling. Hopes this made sense.

      I would say it's pretty good. Do frequent oil changes. The one thing that is sensitive is the timing chains. On some cars they are just fine and on others they have been changed, once or twice already which is a shame. Besides that it's a great engine.

      I agree. On long trips, I prefer my "old" '08 Aero. I still enjoy every kilometer in it, the ventilated seats are great, there's less road noise, and it's fast enough even though it's still stock. My '10 NG V6 (also a Hirsch) makes much more road noise and feels much less like a real Saab-you see it, hear it, and feel it. Both cars just passed 105,000 kilometers. Besides that, you feel more special in the NG.
