A remaster would be nice. It's the same as TLOU on PS3 getting a very good remaster on PS4. It also doesn't require much in terms of resources. Guerilla could easily delegate the remaster to a much smaller studio

As an avid OW player (up until 2019ish) who's followed the OW2 news cycle pretty steadily over the past few years, I'm really curious how the game will be perceived and adopted by the broader gaming community. I've seen a lot of confusion over the monetization system etc. and feel like Blizzard more than dropped the ball when it comes to marketing the game towards newcomers to the franchise in some ways (but made good decisions in some areas, like New Player experience).
I’m in the same boat, I’m super excited to get a possible upgrade, but not too excited for the monetisation. The fan base is so split, between people who refuse any in game cosmetics outright, and the people who have surgically attached themselves to blizzards ass💀
im not exactly casual gamer but from someone who has never touched OW ive seen maybe one or two ads for OW2 and it doesnt make it clear why its any diffirent to the first one. no clue if the game is looking good to the community or anything but i do know their marketing is terrible
Literally half of the hate I see online is from people who have no idea about how the game's gonna work. They think that you have to pay 70 bucks for the update, none of your cosmetics carry over, or act as if the game was the greatest game ever when it was 6v6. Anyways, there's plenty of things you can still criticise about it (mostly battlepass shenanigans, how blizzard handled the marketing and development for the game, etc.)

Vampire Survivors is no joke. Fun, super simple, but clever, almost elegant in the way it all works together to make it worthwhile to keep playing it. And you could play it on an original Atari joystick, if you had the right adaptor. It's the kind of thing the whole industry should take note of, but not to copy it, just to see how the distilled essence of gaming looks as a reminder of what they should be trying to capture in whatever it is they are making, tiny indie to huge AAA.

I'd really like to know what's going on at ZA/UM. Disco was the best game I've played for a long while, I really wasn't looking for its studio to devolve into this kind of drama.
Firing three of the originators, including the guy who wrote the book, and dm'd the game the world was adapted from....what's up?
Obviously this is only my personal conclusion, but I really think it's that another company connected to the game (dj2) got the TV show rights to Disco Elysium, and then successfully pitched it to Amazon.
While the project to make the show hasn't really gone anywhere, I can't imagine those DE creators that are leftwing (and openly Marxist) would feel good about working with Amazon, who are about as far from their beliefs as a company could be.

I can definitely understand GameStop employees frustration being forced to act as “babysitters.” To the credit of at least some parents though, I don’t think it’s necessarily that they don’t want to watch their kids while they shop or don’t want to pay for a babysitter. I know as a kid, whenever I went shopping with my parents I always begged them to stop by GameStop. Sometimes they would let my brother and I go in by ourselves if they were at a shop next door or something.

important correction: Embracer Group is not worth 84 Billion USD, but 84 Billion SEK(Swedish Krona) , which is closer to 8 Billion USD.
I played HZD on PS5 recently, and you could've fooled me that it was a PS5 title. That game looks and runs like a dream. If this is similar to FF7 Intergrade in terms of providing an upgrade path, then I'm fine with that. If not then it worries me that Sony are too focused on milking everything they can out of their flagship series. The Last of Us sparked some debate, I'm not sure there's even a debate here lol.
I just don't get why bloodborne wasn't one of the first remasters, esp after the success of elden ring, seemed like a slam dunk to me.

I used to work with/on Stadia for a couple years, It paid my bills at the time and was an ok job.
The impressive technological milestones of the platform aside, it was kinda doomed from the beginning.
My team eventually trained what would become our replacements overseas.
Best part was that one of my coworkers foresaw all this happening well over a year ago.
My hope is that once Google releases tech documents & whatnot, more companies will utilize the pretty cool near-cutting-edge stuff, like super low latency Wi-Fi enabled controllers, or very fast and consistent interactive streaming capabilities. We see stuff like this happening already with Nvidia, so here's to the future.

I forgot they were working on a Project IGI thing, so thanks for the reminder. - But I played that game back in the day, even though I kinda sucked at it. It was like a "first-person Splinter Cell" kind of thing, but it actually existed before Splinter Cell interestingly enough. Then again, I guess you could argue that Rainbox Six already existed before IGI, and that's what it might've been inspired by. - In any case, it was intriguing, but it was definitely... say, "undercooked", even though it was still quite impressive at the time. But it was probably just ahead of its time in terms of what they tried to do with it. I suppose "Splinter Cell" kind of took that (and Rainbow Six), whether it was intentional or not, and ran with it. - I feel like it has much more potential to be realized with today's technology, so I hope this one will be good.

Google's almost giddiness to abandon projects as soon as they get going is why I never even considered giving Stadia a chance. It was sentenced to death before it was even available.

I never want to get my hopes up with Soul Reaver, but reading through the survey...hot damn, I can't help but get excited! It is a gem of a franchise that BEGS for a revisit. Gimme the vampires, the drama, the EXQUISITE voice acting, the dark fantasy, the puzzles and combat. Gimme the absolute batshit plot points that looked like they were picked at random and loaded into a shotgun, fired at a wall, and masterfully stitched together. My body and soul are ready!

I do think you might be looking in the wrong place for Overwatch 2 reactions. People who main it like me are at the least excited for the new content and focus on Overwatch 2 development, and at the most people like me are absolutely grateful for the move to 5v5. 6v6 was way too much for anyone who wasn’t stacking with 4-5 other friends.

Everyday I hear about how scummy video game companies have become and it makes me so glad I grew up in the 90s.
they were scummy back then too, but the difference is that people didn't criticize harassment or crunch back then and even if it did, there wasn't CZcams back then to report on it so you wouldn't get to know about any of it either. only recently the blizzard drama has surfaced and that happened in the 00's and 10's
I'm skeptical of Overwatch 2, but I welcome any kind of content at least. We'll see how it goes, but it amazes me how much of the hate for this game comes from people who just have no clue what it is. It certainly can be attributed to Blizzard's confusing marketing, but come on. I've seen too many people hating the game thinking blizzard killed OW 1 to make you buy OW 2, or that you will lose all your cosmetics, or egregious shit like that. It takes one minute to do a quick Google search. Worst of all is that yeah, as I said, there's plenty of things to be skeptical about the update like the new free to play model or the development nightmare this was for blizzard
I don't think that's it, people just know how they fumbled Overwatch, starving fans of content, making it unbalanced af... also it was never meant to be free to play, they just realised they wouldn't sell much that way... they've just completely mishandled Overwatch and that pisses people off

It wasn't originally going to be F2P so you could say they were just in it for a quick buck, that still makes sense now from what I can tell... I'll try it out though because I used to love Overwatch, for me it's pretty much only ever been on the decline though

I haven't heard of Skull and Bones since the E3 it was announced and my jaw hit the floor when I saw the gameplay and heard it is indeed allegedly still in development.
Small correction Re: IGI Origins. It's being developed by Antimatter Games. Toadman are no longer involved in that one.
To be fair, if the developers were blindsided by the news of Stadia shutting down, they weren't paying much attention to the platform they were developing for and what was going on with it.
This. I'm honestly surprised by it and wonder how many of them have prepared to transition to another platform like XBL (which offers similar Cloud-based options) or just straight up move to PC.

im in the fortunate position where i rarely have too look at price for the determining factor when buying a game
so even in the last of us case, i looked at it more from the perspective of 'was this necessary to remaster as a piece of art' in terms of preservation and such or fixing original flaws, and i came to the conclusion that it wasnt personally.
so i think nothing could redeem the zero dawn upgrade for me, no matter if its a full game or an upgrade or whatever, the difference to the ps4 pro version on ps5 cant be worth making a remaster for
One thing Soul Reaver remake/reboot/new game could do without/less of is the block puzzles. I'd be down for more Dark Souls style combat for game also.
A few thing missing:
Airship Sindicate's project Skylight was tested by a few "influencers" (Mtasted was one of them) and game seems to be going well, at least I eard no diapointment... Yet.
On NFTs some rich guy BURNED a masterpiece by Frida Calo so he could sell 1000 nfts of the same art online... This has some serious implications on what nfts can do to real pieces of art INCLUDING videogames.

I keep seeing a lot of bad info on OW2, here's some quick bullet points because apparently their marketing isn't explicit enough:
Business stuff:
-free to play
-what happens to what I unlocked in OW1? You keep all of it
-do I need to unlock OW1 heroes? Only if you're completely brand new to Overwatch. It's part of the tutorial, you have 13 heroes to start with and you're only playing vs others in the same boat. Competitive is locked until you finish this and have 50 wins in quick play.
-how do I unlock the new heroes? Sojourn & Junker Queen are unlocked automatically. Kiriko is automatically unlocked if you have OW1, if you're brand new you either level up the free battlepass to level 55 or buy the battlepass.
-what happens if I miss a season? You can still unlock heroes from previous seasons for free through in-game challenges
-is voice chat recorded? When someone is reported, voice chat is transcribed into text and that text is sent to see if there's ban/suspension material there
-do I need to give my phone number? Yes, 2 factor authentication is required. It's part of how they plan to reduce smurfing
Gameplay:
-game is now 5v5 - 1 tank, 2 dps, 2 healers
-"but I liked no role limits better", it literally never left OW1 and is still going to be available in OW2
-each role now has a passive: tanks don't get displaced by abilities as much as other roles (harder to push them in a direction) and dealing damage to tanks does not give as much ultimate charge compared to other roles. Healers automatically regenerate health after not taking dmg for a few seconds (Zenyatta and Mercy have enhanced versions of that due to shields/previous passive). DPS characters now gain increased movement and reload speed after an elimination (assist or kill). All heroes now retain 30% of ultimate charge when switching characters.
-big changes for some heroes: Doomfist is a tank now, Orisa is basically a new hero
-minor changes to a bunch of heroes: Winston has a long range zap, Rein has two fire strike charges etc
When is pve? Next year we'll get more info
Thanks for taking the time to write all of this. It's understandable that it would be difficult to put all of this in their marketing, but that doesn't account for bad faith reporting that's being done to spread misinfo as well. Already a few people commented on this video saying you have to pay for OW2. Nonsensical, I have no idea where they're getting that.
