European Nightjar, UK

The European Nightjar is one of those ethereal species that rarely gets seen during the day.
Normally they are heard at dusk performing their surreal 'Churring' call, but sometimes you get lucky and see them roosting in daylight. This year I even saw one with a chick. Incredible camouflage which is vital for a ground nesting bird.
I left it undisturbed with it's young.
