  • In this video (Part 2) I show how to make the Swimbait Head Jig Mold from silicone using the master mold box I designed in Part 1... and then pour the actual swimbait heads from lead.
    The mold files are available for purchase from cults3d.com/en/users/sthone/c...

I do have a secret I found that will help you out in the future though. Not that I know of... I've never seen the dental stuff so I'm not sure where you could get something like that.
      I have converted a few of my master mold boxes into actual molds and people have be printing the molds out of high temp resin and pouring the lead directly into them and it seems to work from what I've been told. I'm not sure how long they last either but it might be cheaper than silicone molds. (of course I'm not sure what the resin cost either)

    • @TheNeverendingProjectsList
      @TheNeverendingProjectsList  Před 10 měsíci

      I haven’t reached the threshold because I’m only making stuff for myself but I hear it’s about 20-30 pours before the molds will start to degrade. I think a lot is going to depend on lead temps and how quick you are re pouring. I like to let the mold cool a bit after de-molding and in between pours so it doesn’t over heat. Someone also told me to dust the molds with talc powder and it will keep them from burning. I've never looked into the plaster or concrete method but if it works the same... yeah I can see it being cheaper.

I’ve only ever made a single cavity mold and find it gets to hot after about 10 pores. I’ve never had one fail even after 100’s of pores as long as you never get it to hot. Works great for tin as well. Anyone offer a 3D printing service.

      @@catherineromeo4891 I don't know much about 3d scanners but in theory it should work. It probably would still take a lot of clean up work after scanning to fix and make a mold from but if the son knows what he's doing it shouldn't be to hard for him to do.
