It was declined because plans were all ready in the works for an Exo reality show. Exo has created realtiy content in their promotions since 2013. Exo Showtime is one of the most popular and iconic idol reality shows still to this day. What would be the advantage to Exo fans paying 11 bucks a month to get YT Red to be able to watch the show when you can watch the shows for free on the Korean networks YT pages like we've been for five years? Its not that SM doesn't promote EXO well, its just that they don't comeback on a regular schedule because their concept of them being aliens from Plant EXO is supposed to be mysterious and every one of their comebacks is timed to coincide with real life celestial events and planetary phenomenons. For example when they had their War album and Power album comebacks it all had to do with when we had a solar eclipse, etc. SM has all of EXO's concepts, stories and comebacks planned out for years and none of it is spontaneous -- it all happens on a specific date and time and it is all for a very planned out reason. Which doesn't leave the group or the members a whole lot of room to do anything outside of that plan because everything they do is supposed to be tied to their story. Plus EXO is meant to be an Asian centered group that is why they started out as EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) and why they primarily promote in Asian countries. EXO has had offers from the Billboard Music Awards just like BTS, and many American companies and entertainment industries want to work with EXO, but SM has turned them all down unless it is tied to the Asian market. SM created EXO to be a Korean, Chinese and Japanese based group; TVXQ and SHINee are geared toward the Korean and Japanese market; Super Junior were created for the Korean and Chinese market, but have recently moved toward the South American/Spanish market; and I think SM is working to make NCT, and right now specifically NCT 127, its next group to conquer the U.S. and the English speaking markets. Each group fills a roll in SM's quest to conquer the world and unfortunately, from day one it looks as though SM didn't plan to make EXO's western promotions a priority. And pretty much everything EXO does has been planned out since day one, even before they debuted, so it doesn't matter how popular EXO has become in the west, that was never part of SM's plan when he came up with EXO's concept, so it has never been a focus of their promotions. Just because you don't see a lot of evidence of EXO activities in the west, in the same way you do with other groups such as BTS and NCT, right now, does not mean the members of EXO aren't extremely busy. Several of the members are working on roles in K-dramas and moves, starring in musical stage productions, filming commercials for products and programs across the Asian market and hosting and appearing on numerous variety shows and programs to promote themselves, etc. Its just that unfortunately, because we live in the west, we don't get to see them as frequently as other countries, but if you follow the members closely you would see them appearing all over the place. I also think why SM doesn't promote EXO through social media such as Instagram, etc. in the same way as it does for its other artists and in the same way a lot of other companies do with their groups, such as BTS, is because of EXO's mysterious concept and how SM wants fans to get to know EXO, but they want to keep that air of mystery. And if all the EXO members had their own social media accounts where they were posting about everyday things and commenting on things they liked, etc. it would take away from the mystery and make them seam too normal and wouldn't fit with the story SM has crafted for them. (I'm not necessarily saying we should be happy about it, I'm just saying that's why I think its like that.) :D

I think SM's mindset is that EXO are so successful and so well known that they need to push NCT more because they're a rookie group and need more promotion because they don't have the fanbase, support, and established name like EXO do. Also, according to some Korean (past and present) employees of some big companies who wanted to promote EXO, SM turns down A LOT of really good really big offers for not only EXO but a lot of their other acts. They want EXO to see as exclusive and as rare as possible so if they do say yes to something those companies will feel like they hit the jackpot. I can't remember any specifics for the time being for EXO but I do remember that one fan said that a member of SNSD (Girls Generation, one of the biggest Kpop girl groups of all time), was offered a role in the movie "Train to Busan" but SM turned it down. Now I don't know if you've seen that movie (you should it's incredible) but it's massively popular, both in Korea, the US and many other places around the world. It's on Netflix. And it's really shitty she couldn't be a part of it because SM decided they didn't want her to do it. In a few years SM will probably forget about NCT too.

It not no “promotion” it just their promotions is less than rookies which is not fit for group that can GO BIGGER. They are probably doing this shit because EXO contract is ending soon. It’s either because they are afraid that EXO would not sign again therefore SM don’t want to give them as much attention so they won’t do well without them when they leave the company or the reason why they reject all these offers is because EXO benefits from them more than the company do. Right now SM get most of the money but once the contract end, they have to make a new contract that’s more beneficial for EXO than the company itself. Which means they are milking as much as they can while it last.

Don't listen to uneducated people pretending to be Exo fans. They didn't put anyone "out to pasture like Shinee." Shinee just promoted before NCT dropped Regular, and Key who is a Shinee member is being promoted right now on his solo activity. Super Junior, GG, and Boa also dropped new material as well recently. SM just promoted 3 whole generations of their artists in the last two months. People are acting like Exo are newbies that still need training wheels. They did a live showcase in Berlin right before going back to S. Korea and performing all the live stages and promos for DMUMT. CBX had promotions plus Baekhyun's Young and Chanyeol and Sehun's We Young this late summer. It's only been barely two weeks and the album broke all of Exo's previous chart rankings on US charts and also made them million sellers of physical albums for the 5th time in a row. They haven't even uploaded all the fan meets, and shows that they've done yet. But you have these people online claiming SM did them wrong...these are clearly a bunch of children that don't pay their own phone bills..lols Also Exo performed in Newark NJ on their last world tour. You have to be deluded to think the promotion they've had has been adequate for an idol group, an idol group that can go even bigger than they are. The main form of promotion for an idol group in South Korea is promoting on TV shows and two weeks since their album dropped they've made one single TV show appearance and that was only with two members. Other idol groups like Twice, who have a bigger domestic impact than them are constantly on variety shows to promote their music, EXO on the other hand have basically crumbs. TV producers have been asking for EXO to appear on their shows for years but they've been declined by SM, we'd understand if the members themselves didn't want those schedules but they actually do. They're scheduled to only have two fansigns for this promotion period after taking a hiatus of 14 months, does that make sense?

They left because of lack of creative freedom and overly packed schedules and appearances that lead to physical injuries and mental breakdowns on stage for their first concert. SM struck gold and broke the mold with Exo. They are true artists, musicians, composers, and writers. SM has learned to allow the remaining members to pursue solo interests, have more involvement in creating their music, and giving them less exhausting schedules. They still have packed schedules, but they get more free time to recharge to prevent burnout now days. Exo is not a rookie group, they have proven themselves to be among the top vocalists in the industry globally. They are highly promoted in a way that is unique for Exo. While people like you who clearly know little of Exo's journey or hardships are complaining about promotions, you all seem to have missed the Vlive this week of them heading into the studio. It's also only been 2 weeks since the album dropped and people act like they should have recorded every music and variety show in S. Korea and have it all uploaded to YT within this time.

Korean skincare and makeup line that has stores in the US and abroad. They have had a working relationship with them for several years. Fenty would be a violation of their contract. One of the artists they turned down didn't even chart as high as DMUMT on the American charts. No body's on YT Red because you have to pay monthly for it. You should also see that they were working on the repackage album and the promotions for that then they tour. We usually get a winter album too, but it looks like they kind of combined it with the new repackage. Then they have to prepare for touring season which is right around the corner.

SM created EXO to be a Korean, Chinese and Japanese based group; TVXQ and SHINee are geared toward the Korean and Japanese market; Super Junior were created for the Korean and Chinese market, but have recently moved toward the South American/Spanish market; and I think SM is working to make NCT, and right now specifically NCT 127, its next group to conquer the U.S. and the English speaking markets. Each group fills a roll in SM's quest to conquer the world and unfortunately, from day one it looks as though SM didn't plan to make EXO's western promotions a priority. And pretty much everything EXO does has been planned out since day one, even before they debuted, so it doesn't matter how popular EXO has become in the west, that was never part of SM's plan when he came up with EXO's concept, so it has never been a focus of their promotions.
Just because you don't see a lot of evidence of EXO activities in the west, in the same way you do with other groups such as BTS and NCT, right now, does not mean the members of EXO aren't extremely busy. Several of the members are working on roles in K-dramas and moves, starring in musical stage productions, filming commercials for products and programs across the Asian market and hosting and appearing on numerous variety shows and programs to promote themselves, etc. Its just that unfortunately, because we live in the west, we don't get to see them as frequently as other countries, but if you follow the members closely you would see them appearing all over the place.
I also think why SM doesn't promote EXO through social media such as Instagram, etc. in the same way as it does for its other artists and in the same way a lot of other companies do with their groups, such as BTS, is because of EXO's mysterious concept and how SM wants fans to get to know EXO, but they want to keep that air of mystery. And if all the EXO members had their own social media accounts where they were posting about everyday things and commenting on things they liked, etc. it would take away from the mystery and make them seam too normal and wouldn't fit with the story SM has crafted for them. (I'm not necessarily saying we should be happy about it, I'm just saying that's why I think its like that.)

yes about that sm promotion, news just in they declined an offer from youtube red for show, declines yt ads, declined a deal with a mobile company, probably left fenty beauty on read. all this ON TOP of giving them one showcase (the vids you watched were from there) and 3 live stages on music show. and they only gave one fansign but due to fans protests and emails and action gave us another one. TEMPO really could've been IT for exo if sm even remembered they existed.

I think SM's mindset is that EXO are so successful and so well known that they need to push NCT more because they're a rookie group and need more promotion because they don't have the fanbase, support, and established name like EXO do. Also, according to some Korean (past and present) employees of some big companies who wanted to promote EXO, SM turns down A LOT of really good really big offers for not only EXO but a lot of their other acts. They want EXO to see as exclusive and as rare as possible so if they do say yes to something those companies will feel like they hit the jackpot.
I can't remember any specifics for the time being for EXO but I do remember that one fan said that a member of SNSD (Girls Generation, one of the biggest Kpop girl groups of all time), was offered a role in the movie "Train to Busan" but SM turned it down. Now I don't know if you've seen that movie (you should it's incredible) but it's massively popular, both in Korea, the US and many other places around the world. It's on Netflix. And it's really shitty she couldn't be a part of it because SM decided they didn't want her to do it. In a few years SM will probably forget about NCT too.

They are probably doing this shit because EXO contract is ending soon. It’s either because they are afraid that EXO would not sign again therefore SM don’t want to give them as much attention so they won’t do well without them when they leave the company or the reason why they reject all these offers is because EXO benefits from them more than the company do. Right now SM get most of the money but once the contract end, they have to make a new contract that’s more beneficial for EXO than the company itself. Which means they are milking as much as they can while it last.

I found this channel and have a marathon to see your reaction. Thank you! My 1st bias d.o and kai 2nd. Actually they are so close, learn from each other too. Kai learn singing from d.o and d.o look up to kai if dancing, really similar, they even said it in the interview. So now both have been improved so much in singing and dancing. Don't listen to uneducated people pretending to be Exo fans. They didn't put anyone "out to pasture like Shinee." Shinee just promoted before NCT dropped Regular, and Key who is a Shinee member is being promoted right now on his solo activity. Super Junior, GG, and Boa also dropped new material as well recently. SM just promoted 3 whole generations of their artists in the last two months. People are acting like Exo are newbies that still need training wheels. They did a live showcase in Berlin right before going back to S. Korea and performing all the live stages and promos for DMUMT. CBX had promotions plus Baekhyun's Young and Chanyeol and Sehun's We Young this late summer.
It's only been barely two weeks and the album broke all of Exo's previous chart rankings on US charts and also made them million sellers of physical albums for the 5th time in a row. They haven't even uploaded all the fan meets, and shows that they've done yet.
But you have these people online claiming SM did them wrong...these are clearly a bunch of children that don't pay their own phone bills..lols Also Exo performed in Newark NJ on their last world tour. You have to be deluded to think the promotion they've had has been adequate for an idol group, an idol group that can go even bigger than they are.
The main form of promotion for an idol group in South Korea is promoting on TV shows and two weeks since their album dropped they've made one single TV show appearance and that was only with two members. Other idol groups like Twice, who have a bigger domestic impact than them are constantly on variety shows to promote their music, EXO on the other hand have basically crumbs. TV producers have been asking for EXO to appear on their shows for years but they've been declined by SM, we'd understand if the members themselves didn't want those schedules but they actually do. They're scheduled to only have two fansigns for this promotion period after taking a hiatus of 14 months, does that make sense?
@@ANDSTONE100 Exo has placed themselves in a unique category that surpasses being simply an "idol group". SM learned early on the mistake of trotting them down that path. That "mistake" cost them the loss of three beloved members and the dissolution of the Exo-M sub-unit which also included their leader Kris Wu.
They left because of lack of creative freedom and overly packed schedules and appearances that lead to physical injuries and mental breakdowns on stage for their first concert. SM struck gold and broke the mold with Exo. They are true artists, musicians, composers, and writers.
SM has learned to allow the remaining members to pursue solo interests, have more involvement in creating their music, and giving them less exhausting schedules. They still have packed schedules, but they get more free time to recharge to prevent burnout now days.
Exo is not a rookie group, they have proven themselves to be among the top vocalists in the industry globally. They are highly promoted in a way that is unique for Exo. While people like you who clearly know little of Exo's journey or hardships are complaining about promotions, you all seem to have missed the Vlive this week of them heading into the studio. It's also only been 2 weeks since the album dropped and people act like they should have recorded every music and variety show in S. Korea and have it all uploaded to YT within this time.

EXO hasn't been on a show as a group since Knowing Brothers and that's only because they are inflated with SM so it's no cost for them. SM has rejected show offers and youtube red offers, colab offers from western groups and artists, they even rejected fashion labels. Yet EXO says they want to go promote and you're here saying they shouldn't because they are a big band are mysterious ??? Nah that ain't it.
@@Takerz13 If you actually knew about Exo and had been following them since debut you would know that they are brand ambassadors for Nature Republic, a popular S. Korean skincare and makeup line that has stores in the US and abroad. They have had a working relationship with them for several years. Fenty would be a violation of their contract. One of the artists they turned down didn't even chart as high as DMUMT on the American charts. No body's on YT Red because you have to pay monthly for it.
You should also see that they were working on the repackage album and the promotions for that then they tour. We usually get a winter album too, but it looks like they kind of combined it with the new repackage. Then they have to prepare for touring season which is right around the corner.
