    This thing worked great. I was held back two weeks trying to find the right bender for a mini split. I had to make a 90 degree bend flush to the wall, where I just couldn't do that with a pipe bender. Great product.

    PEX water line works for this same application. 1/2" pex fits inside 3/4" copper line to help prevent kinks

    The small section of lineset that is attached to the indoor unit is pressure treated and has caps on the end. I have your product and I was thinking that for bending this small section that protrudes to the outside I would remove the caps and insert whatever length of your product needed and then bend accordingly. Next I would attach the balance of the lineset and torque it to the required specs. Then I would again insert your product to do the remaining balance that is necessary. Does this make sense?

    I just bought rubber cords for much cheaper. I got a 40 foot line I have to run for 1/4 - 3/8 lines. So I bought 1/8 (2mm) 30 ft cord, and 1/4. I believe they will stop the copper from kinking but my fear is when I go to pull the rubber cords back out they will be slightly pinched within the line sets. Oh well, I don't know how else I'm going to run these line sets through the walls in my house. I'm not doing the lines on the outside - we'll see if I'm shooting myself in the foot or not.

      I just finished a 5/8 suction line from a big LG unit at my house and was sweating the close bend where it comes out of the house. I had a 16 inch long spring that fit the INSIDE of the 5/8 tubing with a little play. The spring worked perfectly and just pulled out after I made a nice tight 90 that fits well within the wall transition line set cover kit. Simple but effective.

      1/4 you can bend with your pinky. 3/8 isn't much more work. Pretty hard to kink those two sizes. 5/8 or bigger is where I bring out the ratchet bender.

      That's what I'm trying to find out also. The theory seems good because I use 16 -20 inch springs that fit the ID of larger soft copper and that works great, but you can't get way back on a long run so more mechanical flares or soldering joints.

    Why on earth did they blur out the product when they bent the pipe, #1 shoot video showing the pipe being bent in insulation with product then remove the product and cut back insulation to see how it did. Then provide a work truck ready box or bag for storage and you will sell the product. I was certain after bending with his knee he would do the same thing with the product and show an unbent pipe but no so what was the purpose everyone knows a pipe bent with your knee will kink show us how your product is better. My credit card is out and ready please provide a reasonable comparison and real application use. Don't skimp using a 3/8 line either, prove to me you can bend 7/8" and you can have my money. Down-voting for the reasons mentioned above.

      The easiest thing, and cheap, to bend larger soft or annealed copper is a long piece of spring that fits the ID of the tubing with a little play. Never kinks and the spring just pulls out. Great for the close up bending near the exit point of a house or building where there is NO room for error. I own ever high end bender under the sun and the spring is my best friend up on a lift or the end of a ladder on a house. These guys also seem to have a nifty product too.

      Not when they are filled with rigid plastic, there are basically just reverse spring benders, and springs work just fine, these look much easier to use however.

    • @voro5102
      @voro5102 Před 5 lety

      1/2 would be more tricky , aligned holes and just take your time , but you have to really be harsh to kink 3/8 and 1/4 is not really kinkable with the armaflex

    • @TYMWLTL
      @TYMWLTL Před 5 lety

      You will have no such luck trying to bend the big boys however. If you use a solid cord like they sell or a spring that fits the ID you will be one happy camper when you see the result. Trust me I own ever bender out there and a spring or a silicone cord works. My worry is a really long cord could break inside and then your cutting back to find it, so the spring is my go to method for up close tight bends on big line sets.

      @@TYMWLTL I bought a 10 ft rubber cord at 1/2" for a 5/8 copper line. It's not airco bender, just a rubber cord. Hopefully it works but if it gets pinched I'm going to try and shoot air down the line at a high psi to shoot the broken cord out. Could work maybe? My 1/4 line and 3/8 line have 30 foot rubber cord in going to try. Fingers crossed....
