- These commercials aired on CBS on February 23rd, 1983
1. Coke
2. Honda Ascot (Fred from Scooby-Doo must have been first in line to buy this)
3. Lee Jeans (With Kathy Rinaldi)
4. Seven Seas Dressing
5. General Motors
6. Tab
7. Velveeta Slices
8. Ms. Pac Man for Atari 2600 (This was seen as a huge step up over Atari's 1982 port of the original Pac Man, which is largely regarded as one of the worst ports of all time)
9. "The 25th Annual Grammy Awards" Commercial Bumper
10. Promo for "The Dukes Of Hazzard" (Tom Wopat and John Schenider had been fired from the show after walking out over a pay dispute in mid-1982 and were replaced by the characters Coy and Vance Duke for the 5th season. The show took a huge dip in the ratings and Wopat and Schenider were quickly brought back. This was promoting their first show back, and this is notably the only one to feature Bo, Luke, Coy and Vance together in the same episode: en.wikipedia.o...)
11. Promo for "Archie Bunker's Place", "Gloria" and "9 to 5" ("Gloria" was an unsuccessful spinoff of "All In The Family" and "Archie Bunker's Place" starring Sally Struthers. It wasn't picked up for a second season)
12. CBS Station ID
13. Sunoco (I'm so glad that modern gas pumps use simple buttons and not some weird dial thingy)
14. Calvin Klein Jeans (With Martha Plimpton)
15. WBS Channel 2 News Bumper ("Bee Gees Get Burned"...again! It couldn't have been as bad as the Disco Demolition Night in 1979!)
16. "The 25th Annual Grammy Awards" Commercial Bumper
17. Coke
18. Volkswagen Diesel Jetta
19. Sharp Carousel Convection Microwave Oven
20. Promo for "Wizards & Warriors" (A short lived fantasy TV series starring Jeff Conaway...no relation to the later video games released for the NES) and "Zorro, The Gay Blade"
21. Head & Shoulders ("Why won't my male co-workers make passes at me?")
22. Crest
23. Prudential-Bache Securities Total Financial Planning (Re: "uncertain 80's"...this was in early 1983 when the U.S. and the world at large was still coming out of a recession and before recovery and the economic boom of the mid 80's)
24. TV Spot for "Table For Five"
25. Anacin-3
26. Kentucky Fried Chicken (With Maurice Hines)
27. "The 25th Annual Grammy Awards" Commercial Bumper

33. Sassoon D Shampoo
34. Citibank
35. Diet Pepsi (I love this series of ads)
36. Promo for "2 On The Town"
Wow, that WPIX commercial. That might have given me nightmares as a kid in 1983. It may well give me nightmares tonight.
Ernie Anderson V/O in the Honda ad, another Joe Sedelmaier directed commercial for Sharp and I am ALSO so glad we found out why the Bee Gees got burned!
I remember spending my one personal day in 1991 playing Ms Pac Man. I had spent a total of 5 HOURS playing without hitting a Game Over. Sadly, I didnt have a VHS to record it, but that has been etched in my memory ever since. Thankfully, it was a gloomy, cold, rainy, dark clouded day, and I was on that game from 630am to 1130am. After having hit the Game Over, I swapped over to Keystone Capers. Also, it would be a year until I got an NES front loader with Super Mario Bros 3. So I had to make do with Atari 2600.
I fear to ask, but do you remember your final score on that Ms. Pac session? XD
Also, that game happened to be a litmus test for the great Stella emulator. Not long ago, a TIA rewrite finally got the opening jingle to play as distorted as on actual hardware! Sure it sounded like crap, but so did the actual hardware! :p
@@JFD62780 Sadly, I do not remember. This was 32 years ago, and I regret not having wrote it down or told my mom to take a carefully placed snapshot of it as evidence. But to remember being able to go that long without a bathroom break is an achievement.
11:11 - Because nothing says romance like creepy naked claymation figures singing soft rock hits...GAH!!!
😆😆😆😆😆 the I supposed news anchor clay doll looked like it had an unstoppable seizure
GREAT quality! Thanks for the uploads, the memories are appreciated.
I love the sound effect of the tennis racket hitting the ball.
Coke-with Diane Franklin
The Dukes Of Hazzard-Coy and Vance..the duo who sank the show
Wizards & Warriors-CBS should revisit this..R.I.P Jeff Conway
Crest-with Frankie Faison
1:00 - I'm surprised the guy doesn't ask why she brought her tennis racket into the store...
Coke commercial was fame-esque
I'm getting a real Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp vibe from these Seven Seas "Undercover Rabbits" series of commercials.
3:34 smokin in the boys room? 😂 TAB ad is excellent
Oh hey, commercials from the day I was born. Neat.
Happy belated 40th birthday :)
Seven Seas Dressing- The rabbits in this commercial look so cute in their little outfits, that, they make me want to pick them up and hug them.
Velveeta Slices- That kid has way too much time on his hands if he's an expert on something as simple as Velveeta Slices.
CBS Read More About It PSA- I always enjoy watching these at the end of various specials on this station. I wonder how many of them were made over the years.
That sounds like Buffalo Bob Smith from Howdy Doody at the start of the coke commerical
MERCY! That WPIX commercial was terrifying!
Incredible set! Thank you so much for posting :).
Diane Franklin in the Coke commercial - Better off Dead is one of the best 80s movies👍
Thanks
Love the Anacin-3 commercial. The woman with a headache looks familiar. Anyone know who that is?
Diane Franklin AND Martha Plimpton?! My 80's sweethearts!
Martha Plimpton was so adorable...😍
WCBS TV New York...👍🏼
You were not kidding about the claymation nightmare fuel! Yikes.
Who is the father in the Crest commercial? I know him from a few different shows.
Frankie Faison, the landlord in Coming to America and the kid is Leo O'Brien aka Richie from The Last Dragon
