    Turned out pretty good as long as you enjoy it thats all that matters using coils compared to the leafs of the early overlander makes sense it's a modern kit version really it definitely crawls well hope your still enjoying this one

    Reminiscent of the Holden 4x4 HQ Kingswood that came out from the factory as a limited edition in the 1970s but you don't see them around these days. Looks great mate.

    Are you going to fit a snorkel for crossing any water or just shovel it in to the low set intake & call it water injection ???

  • @bradlywright5189
    @bradlywright5189 Před 5 lety +1

    I absolutely love the build mate, but their is only 1 thing I'm not so keen on & that's the engine of choice i would have stuck an cable operated EFI carb into. And here's why cause its an electronically operated throttle you have a good 1 second delay in throttle response, which can easily lead to you miss judging how much throttle to apply in some parts of 4x4 tracks. Also in the event you do go though a deep muddy puddle & your accelerator pedal gets submerged, it could run the risk of the computer being sent "rogue throttle responses" which is no doubt can end is a way you don't want.... but hey that my opinion

      G'day Bradly, I appreciate your comments and do agree with you about the electronics. There are plenty of other "better" off road 4WD engines that I could have used, more likely I would have chosen a diesel if it was for pure off road use. I simply wanted a V8 petrol for this build and the complete Maloo R8 ute came up at the right time for the right money and that provided the gearbox, seats, wiring loom and a few other small parts fairly cheap. Might see you on the tracks somewhere. Mark Allen.

    3 things I would change is the engine to a duramax TD42 5spd gearbox and redesign the barwork. Still a nice machine tho
