Tuning of the instrument: A = 415 Hz
    Isidora Zegers Montenegro:
(Madrid, Spain 1803 - Santiago de Chile, 1869) was a singer and composer of salon music who, born in Europe, was noted for her contribution to the culture of Chile during the 19th century.
She arrived in Chile in 1823 with her brothers and her father, who had been hired by the government of this South American country.
He studied harp, guitar, piano and singing in Europe with Federico Massimino. She possessed a level superior to that of the amateur musicians of the time - although not equivalent to that of a professional musician. She was also an admirer of Italian lyric art, especially Rossini, which she promoted intensely, leaving a seed that germinated with the diffusion and later establishment of opera in Chile in the 19th century. She also practiced composition, creating works for singing (solo or accompanied) and instrumental works, all of them written in France in the 20s.
Pianist and composer, since her arrival in our country her name was associated with important artistic projects, such as the foundation of the Philharmonic Society (1826), the Musical Weekly (1852), the creation of the National Conservatory of Music (1851), just to mention a few.
Despite this transversal recognition of his figure, his work has not been sufficiently studied and disseminated.
    Historical value:
Due to the historical role that women had in the 19th century, Isidora Zegers' musical work remained in the private sphere. "Her musical work was only presented in public in the 20th century, as it never reached the public sphere during her lifetime, remaining in the innermost recesses of her privacy," emphasized Professor Merino.
