In her previous interviews from the past years, she mentioned other people she knows or her close friends as a reference to represent their lives in this medium. The fact they stretched out the relationship and health problems over the season is the better way, cause it semi mirrors real life, I mean to have it all resolved after 1 episode, would not be authentic.
