  • Joined once again by the Weeb Hiker. About half of this trail is shared with the Ira Spring trail, which can be used to access Mason Lake, Island Lake, and Rainbow Lake. After the turn-off for Bandera Mountain, it is nearly a choose your own adventure style trail. Very slow going, and somewhat scrambly near the end. Most people turn around at Little Bandera. The main draw for this trail is the unobstructed view of Mt. Rainier. On a clear day like this, it was absolutely incredible. We even got to see part of Mt. Adams as well. This is a decent hike, but there are better hikes and peaks to summit in the same area.

I hiked the P3 to Defiance to Mason lake loop on 7/7. I skipped Bandera after doing it a couple weeks ago. P3 was a little intense for me, as far as the exposure, but I bet you could make a great video of it.

Sounds like something I’ll have to look into!

@@ThePaleHiker Another hike that is worthy of more attention is Thompson Point via Granite Creek. Revolution Peak is passed Thompson Point, but I have not tried that yet.
