  • This was unexpected to say the least, as not only did this beat my previous record and the WR set by Vince who is another speedrunner of this game, it almost broke 40 minutes RTA and 33 minutes IGT during an attempt to push out an All Levels Trilogy speedrun.
    Here's the breakdown of each level written below:
    Leaf Storm Act 1 - 00'38"84
    Can ideally get this to a sub-36 so can improve by 3 seconds and this was halfway decent as it's still below 39 seconds
    Leaf Storm Act 2 - 00'58"50
    One can bring this to around 56 seconds with more practice on the route as even the safer route leads to a 56 as I've just remembered that it's around 1.5 seconds slower than the WR route.
    Leaf Storm Boss - 01'15"99
    Got a 2 cycle for this boss which is very satisfying given its pretty much the best RNG you can get on this boss.
    Water Palace Act 1 - 00'47"67
    Very beautiful! This beats any of my single segment times I’ve ever made on this
    Water Palace Act 2 - 01'05"65
    Played much too safe for the ending and with everything else going well, one can take this to a 1'02 or even less.
    Water Palace Boss - 01'30"65
    Best that could have happened with the given RNG
    Mirage Road Act 1 - 02'06"52
    This split is a bit slow as ideally, the target time would be at around 2'04 given its execution level isn't as high as some of the others but overall, a decent split.
    Mirage Road Act 2 - 02'19"08
    Pretty good split as it's below 2'20, but can be improved further to around 2'17 or below.
    Mirage Road Boss - 01'19"27
    Awesome!! Got a 0-fly Egg Scarab which is pretty rare to get in an RTA environment and is always a treat to get it in any category.
    Night Carnival Act 1 - 01'10"47
    Very good split here! May consider doing the faster risky finish which saves a further 2 seconds to near the 1'08 region if it's made consistent enough.
    Night Carnival Act 2 - 01'56"64
    An alright run as it's under 2'00, however, one could take this down to around a 1'52 without doing anything too crazy with enough practice, and overall execution was mostly solid.
    Night Carnival Boss - 00'33"33
    Right, messed up some of the hits along the way which cost me significant time overall so this split is a bit bitter sweet. With optimal RNG, one can get even under 20 seconds for this fight which is insane.
    Huge Crisis Act 1 - 01'19"37
    This was hugely disappointing as I’m normally in the sub-1’15 and is hence the most disappointing stage in my entire speedrunning career (not even joking).
    Huge Crisis Act 2 - 01'34"47
    This can ideally be done for a sub-1'30 and will work at this to make sure that it comes out in a real run.
    Huge Crisis Boss - 02'04"65
    Pretty much the worse case for a 3 cycle boss fight, sometimes it's just under 2 minutes and times like this, it's just over it.
    Altitude Limit Act 1 - 01'58"59
    Great run! This beats what I previously had and made it for under 2 minutes; Of course I’d like to improve this to around 1’55, but I’m satisfied with this for now.
    Altitude Limit Act 2 - 02'15"42
    This stage was a real bummer as the spin-dash skip failed as well as some slow areas which further delayed my time. Ideally, a sub-2'05 would be desirable, but would require much practice to get all of the risky strats in as well as consistent.
    Altitude Limit Boss - 02'04"91
    A pretty decent boss fight executed well and took no hits or missed any. Can get this to sub-2, but RNG just wasn't favoring it this time.
    Dead Line Act 1 - 01'32"25
    This was a very good time as this falls within 3 seconds of my WR time of 1'29"52, of course I hope to improve this but this will certainly do for the time being.
    Dead Line Act 2 - 01'43"18
    this beats what I had on my former All Stages record, but can still go below 1'40 with more practice and implementing the new shortcut found by Nameless who currently has the Blaze record for this stage.
    Dead Line Boss - 00'34"67
    Same old RNG strikes again, button mashing took less than 6 seconds, so not too disappointed with this time.
    Unknown - 02'11"47
    RNG has been the worst yet so far as a sub-1’50 is doable and unfortunately, this and a few other stages cost me the sub-33, but will be back for this at some point.
    Overall, this was a decent run which I wasn’t expecting being truly back to speedrunning the Sonic Rush Trilogy and intend to bust out some more runs in the near future.

      RNG can be the biggest factor, but can me minimised best with Act execution.
      I stream live runs when I can, I’ve been really busy lately so time’s not really been on my side, but things have lightened up a bit on my end so expect to see some more runs out there.

      Will definitely go for the sub-40 RTA at least at some point and then optimise further;
      As for Generations, I’ll have to place time aside as I’ve not played much of it lately.

    Really good runs too.
    And also, it looks like you're playing on easy, but does easy mode make the enemy rooms have less enemies in them for you to defeat?
    Feels like you go trough them quicker.

      I personally prefer the Rush series to any other 2D game given the boost mechanics, speed, shortcuts and overall look of it;
      The easy difficulty makes only minor changes to the Act Stages, from what I gather, the enemy rooms remain the same;
      The main reason this is ran in easy is for the bosses as it reduces the RNG factor and reduces the HP from 8 to 6.
      The act stages stay the same for executing of the shortcuts and skips however, easy mode doesn’t mitigate those unfortunately.

      @@speedbreaker5529 Me too, I love the Sonic Rush games, my favourite in the series.
      Also yeah, I knew easy mode reduced the boss hp, but it always felt wierd to me that it was all easy mode did, considering it altered some of the level design/enemy placement in the advance games.

      I’ve noticed in the newer Advance speedruns, there’s an easy difficulty which is used I think for similar reasons, but didn’t know about the enemy placements changing.
      It sounds more plausible if it reduces the enemies in all act stages as well, but SRA at least tells you it’s the Boss difficulty only.
