good video. i didn't realize higher temp makes em grow faster but it makes sense. i also heard more frequent water changes will make the fry grow quicker as you continue to replace nutrients with frequent water changes. thanks for sharing
wow great job on the 3 tanks the 1st tank to the right yellow labs they are bright I've yellow lab fry 6 batch now same size of yours but crossed my mind about the water temperature to raise it so thanks for the kick in the brain 👍
video with some good info on nice one! im going to be doing my first attempt to save my fry with an egg tumbler never dine it before hopefully it works out lol!
Cichlid fry are super easy to raise. A bubble filter, a heater, food, and a water change every other day to get the uneaten food sucked up and you're good to go. Anyone who says otherwise is trying too hard lol. I have a 3 week old batch in my 29 gallon right now. Curious to see how they color up to figure out who the dad is. Mom is an OB peacock. Fingers crossed dad is my male OB
Thanks for the interest and glad I can help. Adult setups can range depending on species however the bigger the better, with a ton of hiding places or none to reduce agression. I have a few videos that answer your question more in depth.
I just got 4 frys from my pet store since one of the cichlid gave birth and I took them for free and wondering what do I need I have a:Heater,Filter, hiding spots is there anything else I need?
Cichlid City hi mate, just a quick one, I want to raise some fry but don't want the hassle of raising brine shrimp! Can I use micro worms or other alternatives that are not as much trouble?
I do have one fry that momma got out today, she still have more in her mouth. My problem is there 3 other adults in the tank (55 gallons), 4 with mom and i cant catch her or the baby there are too fast and i havent do a water change in almost a month scared of her stressing out and eating the babies. PLEASE HELP
Totally depends on the amount of food, temperature, size of the tank, etc... I would normally say that they will start to color around the 1.5-2" mark.
I would consider all of your Electric Yellow Labs to be at least juveniles. As soon as my fry reach 1” I consider them Nubians ready to go to my LFS or to people who want to come get a few. Thanks for the video!
Depends how big the tank is! Sometimes I will keep some that I like, and often times I sell the other fish to make space! (Selling through craigslist is the easiest method I have found).
Brother I am From PAKISTAN 🇵🇰 I have a Pair of Electric Yellow Cichlids and other 9 different Colors in same tank Should I Separate the Yellow pair from others? OR Should I Separate Others to Different Tank? Because Yellow Female have Fry in her Mouth
Do not remember the brand that I used during this video, but yes, mbuna often graze on algae and whatnot so their diet should not be 100% normal flakes because of the high protein content. I'll feed them the standard flakes/pellets that you can find at any pet shop, but I also feed them algae wafers, and just mix up their diet in general.
The fry in the middle tank are 2-3 weeks old and the ones in the right are about 2-3 months. They are from various different batches so i do not know exactly.
🔥 awesome job bro. I just got 3 juvenile yellow labs. 1 male and two female. This helped a lot. Thanks friend.🔥
Really cool video I learnt a few things here today so thank you 😊
Glad I could teach you something! Thank you for watching!
Cichlid City my pleasure 🤗

Keep talking about methods for raising fry for us newbies. I like how u keep things simple. What about the adult tank(s) setup? Thanks!

Hello nice video how big are the fish tanks in centimeters? Length going to make a fish rack soon.
The tanks are 10 gallons so that would be ~40 liters. I do not know the exact dimensions sorry.
Hello. You can tell what kind of baby fish you see, so good they are? Thank you, you succeed
Thanks!

when do they start coloring up? my yellow labs are atleast 1-15" and looks pale

What do you do with all the fish once they are bigger? Do I give them away? Are they ok to keep living with each other? Total newb here.
Depends how big the tank is! Sometimes I will keep some that I like, and often times I sell the other fish to make space! (Selling through craigslist is the easiest method I have found).
@@CichlidCity thank you soooo much!!! That definitely helps.
When do you pull the fry out? Pretty early on or? Have black nasty babies and am experimenting
Nice fry tanks, but where is the Tuber challenge video? lol
Thanks! Oh shoot! I recorded it already - just forgot to upload lol. It will be up in a few.

What do you feed the baby fry that just came out ?
Just crush pellets
how old are the fry and were they in there ever since they were fry
They were in there since fry and they ranged from 1 week to about 2 months for some
What flake food do you feed? I heard to much protein will bloat mbunas

which food I want to give to fry to grow fast
Depends, I prefer flake food for fry that are dense in nutrients
what are you going to do with all them cichlids
Selling em!
How much gallon tank you have
At one time, I had 12 tanks set up. 125g, 60g, 36g, and a bunch of 10g
How old are fry?
The fry in the middle tank are 2-3 weeks old and the ones in the right are about 2-3 months. They are from various different batches so i do not know exactly.
@@CichlidCity Seriously middle ones are 2-3 weeks old. Are they grow really fast? Mine electric yellow fry are 1.5 week old but still small.
What you feed the fry
Crushed up flake food
Your over stocking
Just for short time, after that video they were moved to a much larger tank.
