      Thanks for watching, have seen quite a few Canadian boats on our travels, always the friendliest of people to meet.

      @@RefitandSail Patrick is brilliant, I recommend his books as well.

    Polyphasic sleep - very interesting. I'm now reading up on it. I was on a 10 day passage at one point and someone on board mentioned that it's better just to suck it up and spend 6-8 hours below and get a restful sleep (obviously, when you aren't exposed to any shipping lane traffic or in proximity to land.) What I've read so far talks about the risks and benefits of polyphasic sleep even in normal life - very interesting.

      Pleasure, hopefully my presentation is a bit less wooden now I am more into the swing of speaking to camera haha.

    Great info.
    Now show us the bits where you spoke to the camera because it did not feel quite as bad as talking to yourself.😉

    ‘Watch the world go by’? … what world 😅

    How often did you use your SSB radio on this crossing and what freq were used amongst cruisers . Great videos and thanks for sharing this info.

      I didn’t use it at all, the boat also has an iridium Go for weather and email (and phone) which was fine for this trip.

    Very interesting, thanks. Don’t mean to criticise but for future post you should try and reduce the amounts of ‘errrs’. Too distracting once noticed and had to quite. Good luck👍

      @RefitandSail  Před 2 lety +1

      Pleased you enjoyed it, yes there is a lot of errs, it’s the way I naturally speak but I can understand that it’s annoying to some. I’m sure there is a lot I could improve on in my vids and happy to take constructive criticism :-)

    Do you ever hove to in order to sleep ?

    • @RefitandSail
      @RefitandSail  Před 2 lety

      I have not felt the need to hove-to, but I have slowed the boat when sailing upwind in big seas to reduce the slamming. Going hove-to can be a useful tool to have in the bag if you want to stop for a bit.

    Please don't take it the wrong way,
    I think it would help to just video yourself doing it by example and maybe with short brief explanations rather than have long-winded explanations where it's all talk... I think most viewers would find it more enjoyable and then you wouldn't have to worry about saying too many long Errrrrrs & Ahhhhhs while searching for the next words to say....
    Roger out..
