Hi Matt this place was massive, great watch and thanks for sharing
The man the legend Matthew Williams I appreciate your content sir you keep making it I'll keep watching it much love from America my friend I'm from New York State I hope all is well with you stay healthy and stay safe.
yes all good. thanks.
Whooooooop! another great video !!! many thanks you beautiful man !
The computer halls are raised because chilled air is fed under the floor into a cube containing servers. This cold air was fed over the servers and out into the rest of the room which was a "hot aisle" to be recirculated, colled and fed back under the floor via CRAC (computer room air con) units.
There are no overhead cable trays so all of the cabling would have been under the raised floor too.
Massive building and great explore.
Good to see Jordan with you - in his element again. 👍
Jordan without his annoying screams, brilliant. I find him very entertaining for some reason, but not them screams he did! But as explorers go, I like him. Good vid
I like his screaming.
@@Andronk I will get him to record a 1 hour screaming video for you.... lol
@@TheSecretVault what about a compilation instead
Great bunch to explore with interesting and entertaining thoroughly enjoyed this .Thanks.
Brings me back memories in my hometown (wythenshawe) always wanted to have a nosey when it was in use
Well that takes me back to the 90's!!! You're lucky it was still there, the kitchen fryers tried to burn the place down!!
Incredible amount of resource and human endeavour, all laid to waste. Progress I guess.
I felt your tiredness on this one .... Do not over do it Sir Matt, we don't want any more collapsing or accidents.
my body is much more able to take a long day out now with my kidney stents in... might as well make the most of it.
What a great explore matt great building I think that camera thing was for making security tags or I'd cards with your picture on
Nice too see you in my area matt there some good views of manchester from that roof I did it a few months the back at Sun set nice little explore
I laughed at the p-vert comment. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
They didn't have 'servers' back then. They were IBM 360 mainframe computers. I remember them well!
The panels in the galls are called PDU'S (power distribution units) they fed the racks of servers via breakers. The UPS would have dedicated rooms.
Just getting around to watching a explore I’m so behind on them I really need a catch up day glad I’m able to watch this one
He Matt, CO2 room extinghuishing is the most dangerous of all, the design concentration is approx 10x the dangerous concentration (means ALWAYS DEADLY). With Halon, Novec, FM200 you are safe, with inert gases you should be safe but near the dangerous limit.
Good video Matt 👍🏻
Huge place but what a waste, so much left there but I guess it may be salvaged if they demolish the building.
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth💜👀👍
Good one Matt!
👍👍👍👊😎
I'm enjoying this one lol
the first person to type 'First' in the comments will shit the bed on the stroke of midnight.
Looks well different now😮 the key room on the ground floor is now the only entrance but unfortunately most of this place is ruined inside 😢 still worth a visit tho as there is some interesting things in there

thanks...will post this to description.
I heard that one bank has a a centre with a futuristic revolving floor to access the servers or something Nat west i think. If its true id love to see that!
That frequency is the sheriff department channel 2 here in San Joaquin County California
lol...
If I was homeless I'd live in there
At 01:07:00 I'd like to look through those 'boxes of crap' - probably the most interesting thing left in there :)
Anyone else see, when matt went through the side door at the beginning, he walked through a bunch of spiders. 😕
it is still there
Amazing how much power these places consume
innefficient servers,,, old crappy INTEL processor technology. All about to be wiped out by newer ARM processors soon which will be 20 times more efficient. INTEL have always been shitty heat hogs.
@@TheSecretVault All thst processing keeps shrinking. Wonder how many kilowatts got pulled in when fully online. Bet all thst fits in one small room now and i wonder how small it will be in another 20 years. You sure that wasn't a bitcoin mine lol
are they planning on demolishing it
Excellent explore matt 👍👍💯
Cant help my self comenting on ..we KNOW WHAT WERE DOING.
i will come
Always a way in 😉😝
newer transformer oil is just mineral oil the old shit that has PCB's in it is the horrible stuff
this was 1971 oil... perhaps swapped out I hope.
@@TheSecretVault most likely changed but lol you never know
AT&T had a division working with GCHQ, so this building would be gathering telint and dataint as well as other services.
What happened to Jordan? Is he ok ?
he is finding his way. Perhaps this is a newer way for him to film... might get him some more subs.
Makes me wonder where are all the server's now this has closed how are they storing all the info it would cost a lot of money to rebuild something like this somewhere else
Banks have so much money to throw at building new computer centres they just probably move on every 10 years or less.
Yes, it makes you wonder.
They didn't have 'servers' back then. They were IBM 360 mainframe computers.
Dude? why Am I kicked out of chat?
not sure, i cant find your name.

Sorry to say this matt but the young lads voice is so annoying ,I wish he would shut up, and let you just narrate , its like that other nutty guy that screams and shouts all the time.
He is harmless not doing no one any harm he isn’t even that noisy in this video jesus people like you will always complain and nit pick at people. If you’re not a fan of someone don’t watch. It’s really that simple.
Matts previously explained that this young lad has asperges syndrome this is the way he is so please bear that in mind
@@Lucas-os4vx well said some people just don’t have a clue. He talks loudly because it’s apart of his aspergers but people who are totally ignorant of the condition will make absolute bullshit comments saying he’s too loud and annoying. If some people just looked online about it then they may understand. But I think some people still have a cave man mentality and think we should all be the same and act the same. Well I’m sorry but we’re all different we should all love and respect one another and be more open to people with autism and aspergers. I have plenty of friends with autism and they’re the most friendliest people you could know. Compassion and understanding goes along way.
@tim empson, same guy... this time much quieter.... lol
@@TheSecretVault it makes me laugh matt, the guy that was giving me a telling off i just looked at his prophile on FACEBOOK, please have a purusal matt lol lol stone's and glass windows come to mind ha ha .
Brilliant video very interesting keep it up matt lad
