  • This is rental car number 83 and today I'm driving the 2018 Chevrolet Impala Premier with a 3.6 L V6 engine. This is a four door full sized sedan, so it should be boring, but I absolutely love this car. It drives well, has two really nice screens, the seats are comfortable, and it gets decent gas mileage. What's not to love? Anyway, thank you so much for watching this video. Please do me a favor and leave a comment (or two) and let me know what you think about the 2018 Impala. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers!

    Chevy has been doing a good job with their interiors lately. I like the fit and finish and style that is found in all their vehicles. Well those I've seen. The media center is great too. I also like the color matching. The blue on the screen is the same blue on the gauges. Little touches like that mean a lot to me.

    I also recently rented this car too and really enjoyed the performance of this engine and smooth transmission system. However, this car seemed to have less fuel economy than other cars in the same class with V6 engine; I was at the gas station every 3-4 days and that's with mostly city driving. In addition, I heard on other sites that there was noice and cold air coming from the dash board where the screen lifts up.

    These are great cars... Chevy really turned the Impala around in 2014... I've only driven an Impala Limited (basically the 2006-2013 generation but they made them for rental fleets until 2016), and it was a boring car... I've unfortunately not had a chance to drive one of these, but I'm really excited to do so... I'd buy one of these if I were in the market for a fullsize car... I work for a Chevy dealership and we sell a lot of these, Chevy must be doing something right :)

    That was EXTREMELY well done. Not too technical. Very honest and succinct. Great camera work. Your most excellent review has pushed me over the edge to buy a used Premier. I am a little nervous about reliability because there is not enough of a sampling size of data, but it appears that the last three model years appear to trend on the good to very good side of reliability. I would be using this car for commuting and really have not found any negatives. But outside of my inclination to purchase one, this video was truly well done, I love the concise style. Last thought: I find it interesting that you point out the rear seating child latches, so I am assuming you find this car safe enough for small children.

    I like the impala, although I’m not a huge fan of the design. I rented a “premium” model yesterday from avis, which is Chevy Impala or similar. The lady tried getting me into a Passat, didn’t work. I ended up with an F150 as a complimentary upgrade.

    • @disneyfan9099
      @disneyfan9099 Před 6 lety +2

      6 16CivicMT Yeah I don’t get why Avis thinks the Passat belongs in the Premium class. They tried the same thing on me. That’s pretty funny that they got to off load a pickup truck on to you.

      Disney Fan I told her it was not a premium car, it was a full size and she said “well it’s a premium full-size because it’s brand new” she was looking at a little list she had of car classes and the Passat was clearly in the full size column. I flat out told her I wasn’t taking the Passat. I then requested an upgrade to ther F150 and she agreed.. Avis confuses me

      100 Rental Cars It was ok, I fell short of the epa gas mileage, only got 20 on the highway. It was comfortable, but it was older. Avis has always been my go to because it’s the cheapest in my area, but last time I rented my car had a check engine light. And this time they tried getting me into a car class that I paid a premium to get out of. Seems a little shady

    As always, a great review. However I don’t think the impala is a good car to buy especially when considering the top of the trim. From what I saw, there’s a lot of hard touch plastic and honestly, cars like the Mazda 6 seem to be much more luxurious on the inside. I have never driven an impala so I can’t say anything about that.... but I feel like buying this car would only be for the driving experiences rather than the better interior that it should have had at such a high price range.

      I actually just bought a 2019 premier 2lz and I was surprised how many soft touch areas there are. Pretty much every where you touch and hard plastic down low on the door which is fine. Only minor gripe is it has the older infotainment system but it works good and I just use carplay anyways so not a huge deal for me personally. Picked it over a 2019 toyota camry xse v6 if that says anything for you
