HRBA BACH
Hudba
The wonderful rubato interpretation in the harpsichord solo was like water flowing rapidly downstream, eddying slowly at the bends, then rushing on to find at last a resolution as it enters the larger stream. So beautiful! Thanks to these performers for their playing.
The Harpsichordist's use of rubato in the cadenza is exquisite.
The watching the harpsichordist play the cadenza in the first movement is enough to blow one's mind.
my music professor gave me hw

Mandeep Singh Deliberate -- and delightful! -- ambiguity on the part of God... excuse me, J S Bach.
It's hard to believe that after listening to Bach's Brandenburg Concertos frequently since I was a teenager in the 1970s that I can remember my first experience with it... that while I was being delighted I was somewhat confused on what Bach was doing. Aside from turning me away from Rock, that is.
I've heard countless performances of the Brandenburg #5 and this one ranks near the very top.
When I heard the harpsichord solo I said, out loud to my stereo system, "Rock n roll". That isn't something this old classical music guy says very often!
The harpsichord solo ♥
Miraculous! I have never heard the harpsichord solo in the first movement played this way, with the kind of emotion and touch exhibited by this musician. I am so surprised and pleased to have heard this. Thanks for posting this.
Finally a harpsichord player who gets it!! Yes, Bach would have been right there at the keyboard improvising the cadenza (as in jazz), very likely pausing to "think about it" and to savor the notes in real time, as suggested so perfectly by this harpsichord soloist with his widely varying tempi. Bravo!! (And: a sign of intelligent life on earth after all?) Thank you!
The main idea behind the cadenza? Is it meant to be thus? Is to allow considerable variations in speed between the very first note and the return of the tutti. Any player who attempts to play it rigidly without any rubato needs their brains examining.
Goodness, I've never heard individual instruments, such as the cello, come through with such clarity as in this recording. The flute is ravishing. The keyboard playing has an improvisational quality appropriate to this music and very much in the spirit of Bach. Lovely performance all around!
exactly!!! wonderful musicians!!!! thank you more please..don t stop !!
Hearing the beauty of those individual instruments is absolute wonder of period instruments.
Six ladies and one man making wonderful music thanks to Bach!
Chico buarqe
And thanx to their own hard work Bach's music is being heard!
High degree of musicality. I love the pacing. Wish it was recorded in 4K.
The harpsichord solo in the 1st movement is one of my favourite passages in all of Musica, and this guy does such an amazing job! Shivers all up my spine.
great solo/cadence from the harpsichordist, amazing! (and that after for years!)
Glorious. God bless J.S. Bach!
I am so impressed with this Croatian Baroque Ensemble...superb...
the most beautiful music ever created what a genius
Lovely. The harpsichord solo was outstanding.
Beautiful dialogue between all the soloists, irresistible dance rhythm in the last movement. At first I thought there was a bit too much rubato in the harpsichord solo, but he won me over with the clarity of the performance - each note was like crystal! A joyful and enthusiastic performance, thank you!
Beautiful. Lurch Adams also approves of the master harpsichord performance.
At first I wasn't so convinced by the harpsichordist, but the way he handled the minor part of the cadenza was amazing.
I liked this cellist ! She really knows how Bach wanted.
The more music I listen to, the more I think that chamber music like this is the way that music is meant to be. A handful of people, interacting with one another simply by producing wonderful sounds. Communication that overcomes language.
Its amazing the sonority of this ensemble,, just 7 people and sounds like the heavens,, congratulations,,
the harpsichord solo AMAZING!!!
Now this is how I like to hear my Bach. Good intonation/ensemble/pace. Bravo musicians from Croatia.
The pinnacle of human civilization. Thank you. Thank you.
I was peacefully studying but then I end up crying hearing every piece of music that gives me so much nostalgia. I can't believe we grew up so fast. Everything just seemed like it happened yesterday
The quality of this live recorded concerto is definitely one of the most valuable advantages us millennials have to appreciate. Exquisite sound quality, and an amazing setting to enjoy through only a video. As for the piece, the musicians are brilliant!
The wonderfulness and greatness of Brandenburg are unrivaled and outclassing
The onlyproblem is the quality of the performance and acoustics
Fortunately
this performance‘s splendor of words of can not attach it
My favorite bach. Love the solo violin and harpsichord!!
You are all so wonderful!!!!!!!!! I'm tearing up from how beautiful the interpretation is. Bless you all for keeping this music alive!!!!
Long live Croatia! Thanks for this wonderful music
his fingers dancing on the keys - choreographer: BACH
The harpsichord run nearly stopped my heart! Wow. Must be a Bach descendant.
Absolutely spectacular!! I can't get enough of the floutist!!
Wunderbare Ensemble und Interpretation!! Danke!!
Just incredible, the slowing in the Harpsichord makes it deeply delightful and more enjoyable, thank you for posting, I want to buy the DVD if you have it. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Incredible performance from all the different players. When listening to this piece played so well, it becomes an almost spiritual experience. The way JS Bach's music rises and falls, the changes in tone and cadence and the way they flow into each other, it is wonderful to listen to and for me there are only a few composers that compare. Sometimes I'm sad that a lot of my generation don't appreciate classical music and still see it as something elitist or "boring". It's so much the opposite of that! And technically it must be almost 300 years ahead of it's time.
I like your comment that there a re few composers who compare. Actually none did what Bach achieved but they did achieve greatly in their realm of music,
Fantastic! One of the BEST performances I've ever heard!. The basso continuo solo was superb!!..Lovely. you are are a great asset to the music arts! Luscious, lovely. authentic..Bach would be proud. I Thank you. thank
you.
Everything Bach is always so full full of life. This place is simple but very warm
which helps musicians and public (and us) to relax and enjoy what we listen to.
I love how this harpsichordist is handling this, personally. Busy but beautiful.
Excellent harpsichordist, wonderful cadence.
And I loved the way he shortened those trills in the last movement at about 19:40. Just left the instruments hang there is space for a moment. Drama on a no dynamic instrument, brilliant! He might be my new favorite
Of this piece, I have heard more than twenty proformances, this is top notch!
Oh why, Oh why does this world degenerate into greed/warmongering...When we can produce such wonderful music!.....Aged 82
A minimal version in terms of number of prerformers. The solo violin is also the violin of the "orchestra". We must remeber that these concerti were designed for ducal chamber ensembles. They were cerianly closer to chamber music than to soloists and string orchestra. So, the option presented here is quite valid. The interpretation is abslutely outstanding.
¡Gracias, Bach!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
just what i was going to say! tone, blend, interpretation, clarity, passion within the structure, voicing , etc. yes soooo beautiful.
I wish that you guys played the complete Brandenburg concertos 1-6. I'd love to hear all of them. Thank you for this dazzling performance!
The enterpritation of the tempo at 6:22 is VERY well constructed!
This is still brilliant 4 years later!
Superb playing and musicianship!! Testimony that JS Bach's original orchestration stands the test of time.
How fresh is this music! it could have been written yesterday if only we had another Bach!
Woa! This is one of the best versions of the cadenza that I have heard... great performance by all!
Well orchestrated, played in uniform concordance and rythm, a perfect 'ensamble'. Boy! Must it have been good when it was originally played! What class! Bravo.
Execellent performance! The baroque flute sounds beautiful!
Very well indeed! One of the best performances I've heard! Two violins unison, hard!!
LOL nine years later I wanted to see this again and almost could not find it!
When I was in the 7th grade in China, the music teacher from Shanghai told the class that Bach was called "The Father of Music". It took me an entire life of 60 years long to finally appreciate why people called Bach "The Father of Music" ! George Wu,Architect, A.I.A. 2013-4-29
Which strength, which energy, which grace, which inspiration, in summary Bach is a genius and this is a masterful interpretation
Absolutely amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Hérbert Canto
Superb panache! Breath of new life for Bach's composition. Bravo. Headline: The Croation Baroque Ensemble knocks all the elevator music out of Brandenburg #5! So fitting for the unparalleled improviser, J. Sebastian Bach.
the CLAVCEMBALO part is so original , that is why I put a like.
Oh Pavao Masic, I think he is just about my favorite musician alive. he's style is just perfect to my ears.
He's good but I find his faster-slower tempo, especially the needlessly long pause before his solo in the fiest movement and the ultra-slow start, as if chiding the pace of the orchestra that just was playing, a bit pretentious, even prima-donna-ish. Brilliant fingering, tho!
I find your needlessly-long comment, couched in unnecessary verbiage, pretentious.
Croatian assembly captured technique, style, precision and musicality of the Baroque Era and Bach's writing.
I love All the classical music from the Barque Era, it’s my favorite music era I love to learn about.
Never heard a better version of this since the days of Karl Richter. Maybe he’d even give this a thumbs up!
I'm speechless with this fantastic interpretation. Congratulations for all of you who played and recorded this.
McLovin doing it so well in the harpsichord. Excelent interpretation.
Excellent*

Three Cheers for J.S.Bach !!!
Bravo!Bravo!Bravo!
My favorite performance of the third movement!
Just so beautiful I have always loved this piece.
Bach is smiling when he hears this from his throne in heaven....
No religion please. Just the music.
Bach was deeply religious, and I was not speaking literally. Please allow people to comment in their own way, without condescending replies. @@robinblick9375
CBE - another masterpiece. Totally flawless.
there was a small slip by the harpsichordist in the first movement, but everything else perfect
Congratulations. One has no recourse but to be proud of belonging to human species by hearing this!
Sometimes you humans make wonderful pieces - and this is one of them.
¡Bravo! This ensemble is excellent.
Wow who are these people! They are so good! Perfect!
What an incredible performance. The musicians were fantastic. It was great to hear all the musical lines that would get lost with a larger ensemble.
The harpsichord is such an interesting sound.
thanks God, thanks Jesus, thanks Bach.
God bless Bach
And thanks Buddha . You forgot about my God . Why ?
You think Jesus used to listen to Bach !!!!
tears of joy!!! long live classical music !!!!!
Just amazing ,Many Thank's to The Croatian Baroque Ensemble !

surprising performance of the old masterpiece by young musicians.
Great, charming and tasteful sound! Congrats from Brazil!
Croatian Baroque Ensemble
Beau, noble, apaisant. Merci !
This Brandenburg number 5 is performed so unspeakably well I hear that Bach has somehow awoken where long he lies and now smiles and giggles and in rhythm tilts his head from side to side wishing to God he had written this one.
I thought he had written it...
