I use a small anchor with my kayak to help keep from being dragged along by the fish. It really helps for small to medium fish. The big ones just kill you in a non-pedal kayak or SUP.

Should check out Frostproof Florida in southern Polk County someday,it has a charming downtown surrounded by 2 beautiful large lakes with great fishing especially bass fishing.A little off the beaten path,an undiscovered gem!
Are there any concerns about sharks or gators when you are fishing on your paddleboard? I'd be afraid a shark or gator would chase the fish and possibly knock me in the water.
ive seen that happen in a video LOL a shark was chasing a sea turtle and a guy on a paddle board was caught in the middle of the two and fell into the water, video ended there so who knows how that ended
It doesn’t work like that on a paddle board unless you are anchored up to begin with. The whole board will be towed and you will wind up in the trees. That’s the challenge of paddle boarding and big snook. It ain’t easy.

A 6 to 8 ft stick anchor/push pole would make all the difference!
