It was apparently gonna be more creepy with bone breaking sound effects but the BBC requested it’s removal as they considered the audio to be too scary especially for younger viewers, many of the people who watched it early said that scene with Dr Constantine should be removed entirely but the higher ups refused as they understood what Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat were doing and appreciated the family friendly horror the scene presented

One thing I want to mention before you watch Part 2, AKA "The Doctor Dances:"
There was a long period after the original "Doctor Who" series was canceled in the 1980s when all the fandom had to work with was a series of ambitious novels called "Doctor Who: the New Adventures." Trying to give us a more "mature" look at the Doctor led to a lot of very dark stories. Many times, we'd meet a cast of appealing guest characters only to watch them die, watch EVERYBODY die (except the Doctor and his often-devastated companions) with the "happy ending" consisting of the fact that the villain was also killed.
We fans endured years of "Doctor Who" where "EVERYBODY DIES!" And that's the environment into which the first year of the new series was released. Just keep that thought in the back of your mind when you watch the next episode.

Jules, Time Lord is a title a person receives on Gallifrey after completing a course of rigorous study...think PHD. Not everyone on Gallifrey is a Time Lord. Upon completion Time Lords choose a ''screen name'' which they will be known by...he chose ''Doctor''. Nobody can know the real name of a Time Lord because then its possible for them to assert some control over the TL. Hence the name of the show, ''Doctor WHO?''. Its kind of a running joke through the show. It's the most important question in the universe, one that must never be answered.
Anyone - "And who are you?''
    Doctor - ''The Doctor''...
    Abyone - ''Doctor WHO?''
    Doctor - ''Just the doctor''.

First, the name of the hospital: Albion. It was there before...or, actually, after. That was where they took the pig decoy the Slitheen created a few episodes back, and several decades later.

Seeing the singer on stage in this episode made me recall the time when I went to see 'Doctor Who: The Ultimate Adventure'. It was a musical stage play which had a short run in 1989 and stared Jon Pertwee, who reprised his role as the 3rd Doctor from the classic TV series. When I saw it, it was playing at the Wimbledon Theatre in London, UK. It was amazing to see the actor 'who I consider my 1st Doctor' up on stage with the Daleks and a TARDIS. Sadly he didn't sing and neither did the Daleks, that was left to the rest of the cast. I'd love to see another Doctor Who stage musical someday.

It is very astute of you to think that Jack was from the same group of folks as the Doctor. He even used something like a sonic screwdriver to turn on the music they were dancing to. And, in Rose's defence, Jack is a con man and con artists are known to be quite the charmers and charismatic, which Jack is being portrayed as. And here, the darker nature of this Doctor series rears it's ugly mask! This was very creepy on first watch! Especially since it usually came on at night! I wonder if the shenanigans between Jack and Rose were meant to offset the darker nature of the empty child! So fun to hear your comments and especially to see your reactions! One thing I really appreciate on a rewatch is the scene with Rose and Jack dancing. Rose seems so smitten, like she's barely paying attention and Jack, an obvious con man, has charm turned up to 11. However, later on it's revealed that Rose was very much listening during that scene. Of course she'd be a bit smitten, but she is not stupid. She knows Jack is up to something and pretends not to even be aware of the "business side of things," only to call him out later when the Doctor confronts him.

We’ve seen that develop in her through the series. Her character develops naturally within the course of the season. As far as this being creepy, I’d say the Dickens episode was as well. I bet it's different for everyone but for ME, it's that feeling of showing a new friend a new thing and getting to have some portion of that experience :P I don't exist in an area that's agreeable to just randomly finding new mates. So this is a happy time of day where I can enjoy a thing in a similar-ish setting.

Your criticism that Rose was acting out of character here was spot-on! Writer Steven Moffat definitely mis-handled her character in this episode IMHO. Rose may be impulsive, but she is certainly not captivated by men on the grounds of superficial physical attraction, nor is Captain Jack even her type. She's a sensitive soul. You get it! :-) Moffat doesn't always understand women very well and sometimes ascribes male qualities to them, such as impulsive physical sexual attraction. But still, he's a darned good writer and created gems like Blink, Girl In The Fireplace, plus my favourite ever series of Doctor Who (the 11th Doctor's first series).

I did warn you this would be a scary one! I may have mentioned in a previous comment that while your videos usually pop up shortly before I go to bed on Wednesday evening UK time, I save them until Thursday mornings (being pretty much the first thing I do after getting up) and this is definitely not one to watch before bed! I actually find myself turning away from the screen (well going to a different tab) during Dr. Constantine's transformation, and it was originally going to even worse before they toned down the sound effects for being a bit 'much'.
This is a great two-parter. It was actually one of the ones I rewatched recently (which helped 'prepare' me for the scarier bits) and this episode sets everything up really nicely for the next one, which you'll appreciate when you get to it. Even within this episode itself you have something as small as Jack using what were clearly high-tech binoculars to spot Rose helped hint that he was not who he seemed, and a bit you didn't show when he had Rose in the beam and mentioned her mobile phone (though the whole beam thing made it obvious by that point anyway).
Oh, and to pass the time between your Doctor Who videos I've actually started watching your Buffy videos (though just the first couple so far). It's a very different experience to this as I'm just as unfamiliar with it as you (aside from watching the first two episodes as a feature length premiere when it started), so I'm genuinely curious to know what happens, in contrast to this show where I know so much both past and present that it's fun looking ahead to what I'm most looking forward to seeing you react to and enjoy hearing your thoughts and predictions knowing how accurate or wide of the mark they are.

Always enjoy watching your reactions, even if I don't always comment! Yes, "flirty" is definitely the word for Jack, and I think Rose is still a bit governed by her hormones. According to the Doctor Who Annual that came out in 2005, she had spent some months living in a bedsit with a boy (not Mickey!) before they broke up and she returned to live with her mother, got back together with her old boyfriend Mickey, and had to take the job at Henrik's Department Store to pay off the debt she'd accumulated. Then there's Adam. So, I don't think she's above having her head turned by a handsome con man...

Alright. The creepiest story, so far. I hope you enjoy it, Jules💜 and Thank You, sincerely, for allowing me into your space, to view it with you!💖
Another one of my best of episodes, even though I have never been too thrilled with Captain Jack, as I find him a bit too much, often times. He serves a definite purpose here, but I am mostly like the Doctor, and he annoys me.🤨
The other thing going for Captain Jack, is he stars in the later spin off, folks keep bringing up, Torchwood. I doubt I will ever be accepted in the Doctor Who Official All-Time Fanatic Club🤣because, I don't really care for Torchwood that much either. I watched a couple seasons and found the episodes, I don't know, shallow maybe? I felt there was a sameness to them, and the characters, which I would never say about the Doctor Who series.
Early on, you had a couple of apologists, sort of whinging/apologizing for the quality of the CGI in this First Series, but say what you will about the special effects, that scene where the doctor Doctor's face slowly turns into a gas mask, is forever creepy, and, this time, watching along with you, it suddenly reminded me of SOMA, which I chose not to think too much about.😨
I think I always liked this show, well, firstly because I was fascinated by the old shows I saw occasionally on late-night educational tv, when I was very young, but when I started watching them in earnest, with this series, I found grand, in a way very similar to the X-Files. With just a bit of suspension of dis-belief they both tell fantastic tales, with believable plots, and are constantly surprising, with their scope, their depth. Both series are amazing, but Doctor Who is most consistently so. I have watched these seasons a number of times, and I always enjoy them. They are funny, heartwarming, cheeky, frightening, and many times, very melancholy, or downright sad. It's just marvelous entertainment.😊😝
One of the spin-offs, I do enjoy, and I wish to watch all of one day, is a children's show, well so is Doctor Who, but I always liked the main character. A former days Companion, Sarah Jane Smith, the Adventures of Sarah Jane. A marvelous character, with an appealing personality.
Anyway, a very good episode, with some twists and turns, as usual, and unexpected, which makes them very entertaining. 😛 As others have mentioned, one of the biggest attractions here is watching you, and recalling the same feelings you are experiencing, from my first viewing just a few years ago. I am so pleased you decided to take the time to watch, enjoy, record, edit, and publish your experiences with this show. It truly is great entertainment, seeing you, remembering me, and feeling, very much, like a shared experience.🤭 A marvelous way to spend 20-30 minutes, once a week, so, again, Thank you for the effort, Jules. These little gems you produce and share, they are everything,😍 and forever.🥰

Risk taker, yeah okay i can see that in Rose, but the inconsistency with her jealousy of the doctor showing anyone any attention makes her kinda hypocritical. And I agree that "finally a professional" line is annoying even after all these years, because it's a case of "be who I expect you to be," as opposed to accepting that the doctor is who he is. I love them all, but if I had to rate them my ranking would be #1 NV Ultimate ED #2 F1/F2 #3 F3 GOTY #4 F4 GOTY #5 F76
For me, NV was a much richer RPG experience (over F3), and was set in West Coast USA much like F1/F2 were, so it felt truer to the original cannon.
F3, set in Washington DC and is still a good RPG experience, but not as good as NV.
F4, set in East Coast USA, was also good, but what let it down for me was they introduced the Fusion Core (yep, the same ones as in F76) and it had you stumbling over sets of Power Armour on every corner, which kinda cheapened the whole PA experience for me, but that’s just my opinion 😊
F76, I play and love, but from a RPG/Cannon perspective I have to rate last.
