How to Add Subtitles to Videos Automatically (Make Open and Closed Captions with Kapwing)

Captions, also known as subtitles, are essential for videos. They make content accessible to people who are Deaf or HOH, to people who watch without the sound on, and allow many to remember information better. There are two types of captions:
Open captions → are always present on the video and can’t be turned off.
Closed captions → can be turned off. This is the kind that CZcams has when you click the CC button on a video.
Creating video content is a time consuming process, and without having some form of captions available, you won’t be reaching as many people as you could be. In this tutorial, I’ll be going over how to easily make open captions and closed captions for videos using a tool that automatically creates captions.
For open captions:
1. Open Kapwing’s Subtitler www.kapwing.co...
2. Upload your video
3. Click “Auto-generate” to automatically create captions
4. Edit the captions to make sure they are correct
5. Click “Publish” and wait
6. Download your video
For closed captions (*this feature only available for Kapwing Pro customers):
1. Open Kapwing’s Subtitler www.kapwing.co...
2. Upload your video
3. Click “Auto-generate” to automatically create captions
4. Edit the captions to make sure they are correct
5. Click “Download SRT”
6. Upload the SRT file to the platform you're posting the video on

ok but if i make 2 captions at the same time, they're on top of each other and there's no way to move just ONE caption
actually infuriating

You can’t auto-transcribe more than 10 minutes of content per month. But you can manually add subtitles if you'd like. Happy creating!
