  • In this video I take a close up look at the Red Dragon javelin darts and take them to the dartboard for a demo. These darts are incredibly grippy and the quality is absolutely unreal for a set of $20usd darts.

    Theres the review i was looking foward to! And you are absolutely right about these sticking to the thumb. Haven't had barely any skin on my thumb for a solid 5 months since i started using these as my match darts. Excuse the poor grammar, too drunk after watching all 8 matches in the worlds today haha.

      Cheers Johnny! That's actually some great drunk typing 🍻
      Crazy grippy though! For me it takes a very light touch to throw these well. Once I start gripping too hard I'm chucking them to the left.

    I was just poking around some older reviews and was surprised to find the Red Dragon Javelin under the spot light. I bought these in 20 grams awhile ago as my first nice set of darts. I just love them. I am way more accurate when using these. Nowhere close to your skill level. Your jerking throw amazes me. The grip on the Javelins is my favourite . It just feels right. great review.

      Thanks! Yeah, dartitis did me no favors in terms of how I look while throwing. Luckily with hard work over the years I've somehow made it work. The Javelin's are a great dart though. 👍

    I've got a set of these, the 20g I think. the grip is very rough and abrahsive but it smoothes out. They are the best darts i've thrown for a long time, they flow very straight.

  • @digitalscribbler68
    @digitalscribbler68 Před 2 lety +1

    I just got a set of these and I like them. I haven't played darts since the 80s, so it's a big surprise to see tungsten barrels that are so inexpensive and attractive. The nickel in the alloy gives them a much nicer appearance than the pure tungsten darts back in the day. And the $85-and-up price for tungsten barrels back in the 80s made buying a single set a serious commitment. At around $30 per set now it feels super easy to justify buying a few different sets to experiment with.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm not sure where you're from but there's a really long story about the price of darts in the USA. Turns out we've been getting ripped off for decades. Wait until you discover UK dart shops. Literally 100s of awesome darts in the $20-$30 range.
      On top of that many of the name brand darts cost up to half of what they cost here in the states. For example I recently reviewed some Peter Wright PL15 darts. They cost $39 from the overseas shop I bought them from. Or $92 from an American dart shop. The price differences are insane. I have some links if you want to read more about it. An online friend wrote some very well researched articles

      @@WorldwideDarts It's probably the Illuminati -- they control everything. This seems like an interesting topic for a video.
      Prior to the interwebz and Amazon, we mostly had to buy through "pro shops" and mail order, so maybe that's part of the history of high dart prices here in the US. Darts was a novelty sport in the US back then, and retailers that specialize in anything novel tend to sell things at very high markups. The tradition of high dart prices continues...

    Probably a little late on this review but I just bought 20, 22 and 24 gram sets for under 70 including shipping. I like them and think grippy darts teach you to have a softer hold on the darts when throwing. If they do catch my thumb or forefinger I smooth out any roughness with a fine grit sandpaper (320). My job can tear up my hands.

      You're not the first to say that but what percentage of all players use the stock set up? My guess is about .01%. We all use our own flights and stems so to do a proper review I throw with the set up that works best for me. After all, when we buy a set of darts we're buying the barrels, not the cheap stems and flights that they come with and would only last a few days before being destroyed anyway
