Fantastic review. Love that you bring your wife in to get her take on the scents. There's been times when my fiancee has not liked the smells of certain beard oils and balms, and ultimately as long as my beard looks great and the other half is happy, I'm happy. Honest Amish is hands down my favorite and go to beard product. Other companies products seem to bother my skin also, so it's super cool they have a fragrance free/unscented version. Again, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Really enjoy your reviews/videos.

Love the channel Dan C, just discovered you and subscribed. I recently picked up the Honest Amish Heavy Duty Beard Balm and I couldn’t believe how much I loved it. Black Licorice isn’t near as strong as original, almost has a play doh type smell (in a good way). I’ve tried Bearded Bastard and like them, but a bit too expensive. Favorite has to be Luxurious Bastard, awesome guy to talk to and his products are amazing. But I n the end, I’m floored by how much I enjoy this Honest Amish now. You hit the nail on the head with this review. Keep up the good work!

Another hit Dan! I think anyone who has decided to grow a beard at some point in their lives has tried Honest Amish. The balm is what I went with before I started this whole venture and I really enjoyed it. It's definitely more of a conditioning balm than a holder.

Great review. I have the Premium Beard Oil and the Bayou Blend Balm. I use them all the time. Wish I had found out about them when I started growing my beard. They have become by go to products.

Honest Amish is my first buy too. I didn't like the smell either when I first started, but it has grown on me. I don't get a licorice smell off of it though, I get more of a spice with natural cinnamon.

I love the honest amish heavy duty balm. It's what I use every day. I've tried about 15 different kinds but I always come back to the honest amish because it makes my beard feel so much better than anything else. same here on the forever rebuy.

I currently use Amish Amish exclusively. I use their "slick" soap, "pure" oil, and the heavy-duty balm. I originally got the classic oil and personally hated the scent. Glad I found the pure version. So far, I love the way my beard feels and holds with these products.

I love the Classic. I use the Premium at night when I don’t want fragrance. Their beard balm is very well made, soft and with delicate scent. Great prices as well.

I've been using Honest Amish beard balm for awhile now. I also use the heavy duty beard balm and the premium beard oil. I 100% agree with you about how my beard feels after using Amish. My beard feels softer, richer and fuller. My beard actually feels healthier.

This is a product that I have been using from the beginning. 1) it easy to find. 2) cost effective and works 3) I pretty much have a bottle and/or can in my Harley, work toolbox truck and is my go to when long distance traveling by motorcycle.

Honest Amish is my go to for work and night time routine. Been using it for years now. I work on the ambulance so the smell isn’t offensive or overpowering to patients.

I just bought honest Amish, balm and oil… it’s way better then every man jack.. I ended up returning the Everyman jack butter … smell for honest Amish is good … I tried it with a tiny dot of pure oudh oil in my palm with 4-5 drops of Amish oil and it smelled amazing… combination of the natural oil smell and oudh matched really good… also just watched your video on hydrated silica in dukes oil… almost bought it … and I thankyou 😊

They definitely smell different and I agree that the balm has a wax smell to it. I personally enjoy these products alot when I'm just lounging around or I dont feel like smelling like something all day.

I agree about them smelling differently. I also like they are in Wal Mart. I was able to smell them and decide if I was going to try it without the buy and hope I like it method. My wife does not like the black licorice smells. I love them. Reminds me of my dads favorite candies when I was a kid. Going to try your method tonight. Love it!!!!
Let me know how that method goes! The good thing with honest amish is that she likely won't smell it in your beard. Just you get a whiff while putting it in. It is a feel good smell to me!

Love Honest Amish, the regular balm, soap, and the wax have the same scent as the original oil, I believe their premium oil has the same scent as the heavy duty balm. They also have a Bayou blend that I haven't tried.
I have not tried the Bayou blend yet either
I just ordered the bayou blend myself, will try to report back when I get it. Should have it by tomorrow I believe
Not a big fan of the licorice smell, so I haven't really like the oil so much, although it does make my beard feel great. Good to know the balm has a different scent. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for a great detailed review.

Good review man. Not sure if they have that here in Australia. You have a great beard, and no offense, but your wife is gorgeous. I haven't watched any other of your videos yet, but for this one, maybe invest in an off-camera mic, and your auto exposure is a bit annoying, but all that is me being a fussy old dude. I envy your awesome beard. Wish I had that great lower lip area thickness. PS, I just realised you're really new, so obviously you'll grow into these videos well over time. Good job.

For sure not for the fragrance, but you're right... there are so many dang good scents and quality oils out there, it is can be tough to fit in. That is why it is in my night routine. I do not like a strong scent at night.
Dan C Bearded I understand that..some of the oils that are strong ...at nitetime will almost keep me awake especially peppermint scents and a few others are overwhelming when that's all you can smell...its like trying to go to sleep with some vicks vaporub on lol😂

One thing I can say about the Heavy Duty balm is that it completely masks the scents in my oil. I have tried applying it before and after my oils to no avail.
I am getting about 3 hours of hold time from their wax. It starts to weaken about an hour in, then after 4 hours, my mustache is in my mouth. It's a good stand by though, and I'll always keep it in my line up. ✌
I only use it at night, but have found other butters I like more

Not much of a hold at all, I only use it for night conditioning. It would contain the flyaways, but leaves your beard feeling kind of "heavy". Not like a stiff hold, but just like a butter.
I see this is an older vid. Do you lean more to beard butter at night now. Or do you still like to use the balm at night.

Have you tried Grave before shave yet? I started out with Honest Amish for early as the extra conditioning was nice for the skin but now that things are a little longer it feels a little too greasy on my face.

It honestly depends on your pallet, and most importantly your wife's. I know Honest Amish grew on me but my wife still dislikes that scent. In terms of GBS the most popular one is Cigar blend and I have to say its quite devine. Best way I can describe it is a vanilla with an almost chocolaty finish. If you prefer something a little more manly their Gentlemen Bourbon scent nice as well.

Dan, I use beard balms everyday just for the hold on my crazy, curly beard. That said, I usually like to follow your advice and hit the oil right out of the shower and then put the balm on about 5-10 minutes later. However, i don't want to have to buy matching oils/balms every time, so I'm looking for a very high value, good quality oil with a fairly mellow scent that won't conflict with balms. Is this my best option? Or is there another oil out there at similar value that has an even mellower scent? Thanks!
You can get unscented balms to go with any oil! Neutral from beard octane is what I use.

You know I tried out quite a few brands of oil and balm, and I have come to the conclusion that I don't really need anything else aside from the oil, balm, and wax. Its funny because this was the last brand I tried.

Question for you. When you look at the ingredients of Honest Amish “balms” would you classify it as a butter? The reason I ask is because it contains no waxes. It is strictly oils and butters. Thank you!

I talk about this often on my livestreams and actually have a video dedicated to affiliate codes. Some videos are are affiliate codes where I get a percent of the sales, but I always say if that is the case. It would only be from a company that I absolutely love! I also have an influencer fee for most reviews. That is where they just simply pay me to review to compensate for my time and influence that I have earned. This video you have commented on is neither. I have never received anything from Honest Amish.
Hey Dan, I’ve tried some products you recommended and most are on point(thanks) but this honest Amish oil is way too thick and clogs the pores. Smells nice but I’m gonna stop using it.

Honest Amish was my first balm and buy. Though, I never go back to them. I prefer other products and scents. Most companies have the same or similar oils anyways. I prefer certain scents. Though if I want scent less coober beard has the best scent less oil I've ever had its really really thick too. Like artius man thick or thicker.
My favorite companies hands down are luxurious bastard and artius man
