    I drove 200 miles last month to go sit on a Ventrac. As a 6'7" tall operator, it's hard to find something that fit me well. The tractor looks small, but it fits me just fine, even at full lock of the steering. My initial reaction was "what an amazing machine!" The dealer I went to didn't have any in stock, but had a pre-sold unit that a customer had yet to pick up in the back. Apparently they get about 7 units a month, and they are all sold before they arrive. The demand for this unit is definitely out there, and I can see why.

    I watched a fellow who had had trouble with beavers use one of these around his pond. Beavers really don't want to go too far to get their food so if you keep the trees spread apart and at lead 25' from the edge of the pond and mow the trash down to the water's edge you will have a lot less problem with those beavers. It worked for the fellow I was watching.

    Wow! That is a quality product. You can really see how well built it is. The price point is a little high for the small homeowner market; however, if you have 5 plus acres of land with various geo challenges this would be appropriate. I think that boom cutter sealed the deal for me. I might actually consider buying one after watching this video. I hope that they "loan" you one so you can take it out on your jobs. Great video! Thank you.

    Nice video as per usual. But, the real question is, what do you want to do with a new machine? I knew a guy in central New York that managed a casino, he swore by these machines. But, if you were to buy a Kubota grand l, you could put a flail mower on the front of the tractor, with any easy to hook up attachment. Just drive right into it and work the controls from inside the cab. No getting out.

    I would like to see what your opinion is on the avant Loaders. I have been looking into a ventrac and an avant and they have the same platform, articulating tractors. But the ventrac is a very steep price for just a machine. I almost bought one but decided to do more research. I do allot of landscapeing and the ventrac does have it ups. I really like to finish mower, tough cut, and aera-vator which would be our main attachments. For the ventrac. But I need to move allot of dirt and rock. Which is when I found the avant Loaders. It would be cool if you did a review on the Avant Loaders as I have not seen many reviews on them.

    IF you were using the "ditch witch" attachment, having it out in front of you could be a very good thing, but there might also be drawbacks to that as well. After all I think they work best going the other way, so you'd have to use it in reverse I suppose. I don't know, I always used the kind that was on the back, and there was a small dozer style blade on the front. I sure could have used this machine's ability to take slopes a few times.

  • @thersaholycow
    @thersaholycow Před 6 lety +2

    My only trouble with Ventrac and why I didn't buy one is every attachment they make only works with their equipment. I already have a few implements for my tractor and they will work with pretty much every other tractor out there. If I replace my tractor with something bigger next year and maybe switch companies, I know that my implements will still fit. Once you go with Ventrac you have to stay with them or your left with a bunch of useless attachments. That's why I didn't go with them and why I won't buy one.

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  Před 6 lety

      Good reasons.

    • @thersaholycow
      @thersaholycow Před 6 lety

      Ya! I agree they have a great product! But if I can't use 3 point implements that I have already invested in then its not worth it to me. It leaves me to buy 2 $25,000 machines instead of one. A ventrack that costs as much as my compact tractor to mow my lawn (that is a 30 degree slope) and that can mow my steeper sections in my front yard, but can't move pallets of stuff around my yard or use a loader bucket to haul my animal feed or clean stalls with. I'm poor and on a fixed income. As fancy as they are I can not justify it even though it is an amazing machine. Maybe if they put a standard cat 1 3pt hitch on the back, that would help a lot. That way I wouldn't be out my investment in my 3pt attachments. Next time you see them Tim, ask them why they don't put on a 3pt hitch?

    • @TractorTimewithTim

    I really appreciate your videos. I have been looking at Ventrac for about 3 years. I test drove one and loved it. I feel like I would miss by John Deere with the the front end loader. I know they have one but I don't know how good it is. Have you seen or used their front end loader?

    Sure seems like the Swiss army knife of the tractor world. I thought you were looking for a larger tractor to handle jobs too big for Johnny? Are you guys changing tactics?

    Tim if you are ever up in Wisconsin will you please check out the Struck Magnatrac mini bulldozers? They are about the size of your 1025. I have already bought one, but I would love to watch you tour the factory and give your opinion of their machines.

      Tractor Time with Tim I have a friend that owns a landscaping company that does jobs similar to yours. He bought a ventrac and said it was the best investment he made. But everyone has their own opinion, and you might want a bigger tractor to do bigger jobs. It's definitely something I would consider. Can't wait to see what you choose! And you'll be able to tow Casey and Johnny together with your new truck!

      @TractorTimewithTim  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes. Truck was first step.

  • @GrampysTractor
    @GrampysTractor Před 6 lety

    Hmm, I'm not sure but that color on the Ventrac sure looks like it would match a Ford Truck I've seen lately. I would have to ask how many do they sell to just a home owner like you or I. I could see an estate owner needing one or a commercial landscaper. Or you just spend the money for a Ventrac.

    The Brush cutter looks like it is just pushing down a lot of grass instead of cutting it ????

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  Před 5 lety

      Missed this Tony, sorry. This cutter doesn’t mulch much. That is how it can be handled by such a small tractor. The grass is being cut quite well, then laid over. Most bush hogs thrash and mulch it more.
      Also, we have several episodes on our channel (later than this one) with the tough cut. Check those out to see how it handles other situations.

    no doubt you have a fine machine but ot practical for average homeowner cost wise

    • @TractorTimewithTim
      @TractorTimewithTim  Před 5 lety

      Not sure, Joe. Dealers can discount significantly. Zero percent financing helps.
      Another point which helps for the longer term is the excellent resale value. Can help you trade up to the next size.
      Also, if you need the equipment, then the price doesn’t seem as bad. After all, you don’t have many other choices. Either pay folks to take care of your property, or purchase your own equipment.
      Of course, your term ‘average homeowner’ could mean many things. I would say that the average homeowner has no need for tractors this size, as they have either no property, or a very small lot.
