I wasn't born when Mj used to play.
My father collected his tapes, and while I was growing up, he used to show it to me and brag about what a privilege it was to see him play.
The only reason I started playing basketball, that I started watching Basketball, That I fell in love with basketball,
    Was Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

When Michael Jordan played back in the day he was must watch TV because it was the only game on TV. CBS broadcast the games on Sunday & that game involved Chicago & the Lakers, or Chicago & the Celtics. IT WAS NOT LIKE TODAY WHEN MULTIPLE GAMES ARE TELEVISED, WITH MULTIPLE WAYS OF VIEWING THEM, EVERY SINGLE DAY. CBS also televised the NFL with a double-header on Sunday & the second game of the double-header (which was televised nationally) usually involved Dallas and so Dallas became America's team - not necessarily because america liked the cowboys but they were the only game available, and that was the case with the bulls also.

Yeah, there used to be a midrange, a post game, 5 different positions in basketball. There used to be defense. Footwork used to be really important. It used to be fun to watch basketball, because the full range of plays, the chessboard, the grit. Now, well, watching 3 point shootouts is not basketball.

The mid range is still there. Kawhi is an example. KD and Steph also go to the mid range not just 3's. But you are right on the post up. Not as much. The thing is I think the reason why no one posts up as much is because of the lack of great big men. If Shaq or Hakeem played in today's game the coach will tailor the style of play to the teams' strengths

We will indefinitely see this about more great players, I expect both Kobe and LeBron. They will have great ones in their own right but no one will ever have people geek out as much as Jordan’s Besides perfection in the finals, his highlights also make him the real GOAT. The highest mix of artistry, athleticism and savagery.

I don't dislike a great player that slices and dices my team, even in a super important game. I am in awe. My high school football team played Marcus Allen's HS team in the playoffs. He sliced and diced our school at both QB and RB. The man was amazing. Yeah, we were heartbroken at the loss of a close game in the final moments, but Marcus Allen was amazing. Steve Young sliced and diced my city's team in the SB. I was embarrassed for our team, but Steve Young's mastery (I think he had 5 TD passes) was beautiful to see. I did see the broadcast of the 1998 game 6. How can anyone not be in awe of MJ's steal and game winning shot? Heartbreaking for UT for sure, but total beauty. I don't think it could have been scripted in a movie more beautiful than that.

The Last Dance happened during 1997-1998, or my favorite school year ever. I love my 11th grade. Better media content in the early-90s. More fun times in the late-90s once I knew how to drive. It will always remain my favorite.
September 1997 released Final Fantasy VII here in the States. My favorite video game ever. And I remember 29 cents hamburgers at McDonald's on Wednesdays. I'd buy 5 of them those days during my lunch breaks. The 39 cents cheeseburgers were on Sundays.
So it's reversed. For better quality, it's the early-90s. Jordan was better that time. Movies and music were better. But for my personal favorites, it's the late-90s. Just good times being a teenager, smoking weed for the first time a week before my 17th birthday, getting into Star Wars, and just hanging out with different people.
