    Do you mean a Code Editor or Text Editor? Text editors are just used to write codes mean while code editors are the one's you explained as examples.

    • @cadamstech1658
      @cadamstech1658  Před rokem +2

      Text editor and code editor should be an interchangeable term. :)
      If you go to the site for sublime text for instance, they describe their software as a “text editor” even though you can edit code.
      Thanks!

    What would you suggest for someone who knows nothing about Python, but wants to create their own text-based mad-lib RNG generator for RPG story development? I want to create a program, that will call a lot of functions/subroutines that determine various attributes of the labels within the output of the mad-lib RNG generator program, so I won't have to refer to my big PDF I already have for it, I can just type in the command and it does it for me.

      Hi! If we’re talking editors here, I’d advocate for PyCharm: www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/
      You can get it for free if you have access to your student email, otherwise if the price is too high I’d probably roll with a regular text editor. I’ll admit that I’ve been hooked on products by JetBrains for the last 7 years or so, and haven’t turned back!

    Hmm databases integrated, jo might mean tooling for datsbases, but the dbms itsel is not integrated in the ide ( abd i doubt we would want it to bw, seoaration of responsibilities etc). Ok the vs i installer might install a dev version of sql server put they are in now way linked untill you add the rekevant delendencies in your vs project

    What do people mean by "lightweight" ?

    • @cadamstech1658
      @cadamstech1658  Před 2 lety +4

      Hey H.K.
      What we mean by lightweight is the snappiness of the application that’s a result of not having everything and the kitchen sink built into it. When you have a lot of plugins, add ons, language analyzers (some editors support multiple languages so it’ll have to go through each file and analyze all of the contents, aka indexing, etc) the load speed compounds dramatically which can result in reduced performance. Thanks!
