  • While a great demo of the T6 Loudspeaker, this became a live A/B comparison between two Decware amplifiers.... our 60 watt Zen TORII Mono's (push-pull pentode) and our 4 watt Sarah 300B amplifier. This event took place at DECFEST 2022. The T6 speakers were used with both amps. Recorded for headphones.

I'm sure these are a fabulous 👌 value. Decware is legendary.

I agree with the person who spoke at the end. Mind u I listened only via my cel’ phone and not with headphones. The torii are perfect sonically from hi fi view point. All balanced.focused and detailed. Poweful and dynamic. However the Sarah is more sweet and somehow more.musical and more raw/alive. It gives more goosebumbs, it is rolling off a bit with the top higher notes. The torii is a little boxy by comparison and can hear they are from small Boxed speaker.

The Sarah definitely sounds beautiful over headphones, with nice body and tone to the voice, but as in any 300B I've ever heard, the transients seem to be softened, here very much so in direct comparison to the Zen TORII mono blocks. I wonder if someone could chime in on that who's been there and heard these live?

I wasn’t there but immediately and easily can hear the same over headphones. It’s the 300b sound I suppose

The 300B's sound more natural and I could listen to them longer. The Zen Torii's have more impact and should with 60 watts. I would not throw either of these out of bed.

I think Steve Deckert calls them the "House speakers." I believe he ordered them from a Chinese company, and they weren't that great, so he improved them...so they're a one off. There's a big thread about them on the Decware forum, but I can't find it.

It’s found under general discussions and sub title House Speakers

Steve, I'm getting a little tired of hearing sopranos squealing at every audio show. Can you please use a wider range of voices (including males) for your demos?

LOL...the results would NOT be as great if Elton John was singing Goodbye Yellow Brick Road compared to whoever in the hell the chick here that's butchering his song in this video.
Female vocals sound great even on a 1980's GE clock radio, so this video demonstrates virtually nothing.
    I personally wouldn't pay $1.4k for these $700 speakers.
If Decware were to eliminate the flashy and functionally worthless "high gloss rosewood" cabinets in order to get the price below $1k/pair, they might have a serious contender to speakers like the Klipsch RP-600M II.
Otherwise, I see a VERY limited market for these.

Interestingly, I believe these speakers are around $700-800 if you want to risk shipping them direct from China. These are what appear to be the same speakers branded by their actual manufacturer Tuolihao, as the "Q8." I don't know if Decware adds any special magic to them or not, but you do have the security of a reputable US company with a 30-day trial minus 10% restock fee.

TUOLIHAO is a brand that is marketed through Aliexpress. That brand is manufactured by the same people who make our Tube Tots and the T6. We have a great personal relationship with this factory. Our version of these speakers are custom made for us and shipped directly to us where we unpack them, do the final testing, brand them and then repack and store them. In the case of the Tube Tots, the cabinets are custom to our spec and we install our crossover and do the final testing and packaging here at Decware. The T6 on the other hand we do not modify, but are involved in the development and testing of it. It is a symbiotic arrangement as the speaker can be rebranded and we don't have to order 30 pairs at a time. When you see these speakers or Lii Audio speakers posted all over Aliexpress, the majority of those stores do not actually have the speakers in stock despite showing inventory. Also shipping is almost always incorrect since they don't actually have the inventory. Lii Audio / Lii Song has refused to sell any of their products on Aliexpress, yet there are hundreds of stores showing their speakers for sale. All done with bots.
My mission has always been to provide and or recommend speakers that match well with Decware amplifiers. Despite being a competent speaker designer myself, I have never let ego get in the way. This is why I took on Bob Ziegler's speakers, Randy of Caintuck Audio's speakers, Lii Audio speakers, Omega Speakers, recommended Zu, Tekton, Klipsch, and many others as well as these amazing little guys from our friends in China. So you see, I don't actually care who makes the speakers, so long as everyone with our amplifiers can find a pair they like and that work well with low power tube amps.
What I do care about is how the speakers sound, because what is the point of making top drawer tube gear if the speaker isn't going to do it justice.
And after 30 years of selling speakers I have learned that if you could only have one type, the over achieving bookshelf speakers are the ones that work best for most rooms, and are so much easier to ship, and generally cost less.
      Steve
