You are a great teacher. For all the people who have complained that the speeded up tutorials were tough to follow, this is a good video for the basics of putting together Ikea furniture and can apply to other pieces, not just the Songesand dresser

Amazing tutorial!! For a not frequent IKEA DIY user, being able to set up a piece of furniture with absolutely zero errors is all because of this video. A suggestion would be to explain what is in each of the boxes IKEA gives. I was a bit lost initially after the first box was opened, where the other drawer pieces were.. but so glad got it done all on my own!!! the IKEA manual would have definitely made me mess it up. Thanks again and please keep continue making them :)

Really thankful for this tutorial but a random thing I noticed is that the rails for the drawers on mine are like half as long as the ones in this video. The drawer opens up half as far as a result and I thought I put it together wrong but now I see it's just a slightly different design change and I kind of hate it.

At this step 11:33, you HAVE TO follow the instructions. First time I stood the drawer on the side to get a better angle but then the backboard slid down which made it not slide properly into the chest.
Once I redid it on the floor as seen in this video, I was able to make sure the backboard was centred before screwing in the sliders.

at 6:20 you have the brackets lining up with the end of the wood, but in the instructions it has a gap, I'm guessing your way is correct otherwise it wouldn't fit together?

1. Can we install the Markhus soft closing device from Ikea on this ? The mechanism seems compatible , however the spec sheet on Ikea merely mentions Malm series.
2. Drill machine seems optional if we are not intending to attach to wall. Please confirm. Just a hammer and screw driver seem sufficient.
I have bought the 4 drawer chest , will be following this video and installing tomorrow.
Is Songesand slightly better than the MALM series ?
1. I'm not too sure, you'll have to try it out. In my opinion, I don't think you can.
2.Yes if you intend on not securing it to the wall, then it's optional but if you have a drill with a Phillips bit, you could make the assembly process a bit faster.
And yes the Songesand series is slightly better.

I'm currently in the process of assembling an IKEA chest of drawers, and I've encountered a problem with fitting the drawers. I've completed about 90% of the assembly, but the drawers are not fitting properly into their slots.
Issue: The drawers seem to get stuck when I try to slide them in. I've checked all the screws and fittings, but I can't seem to identify the source of the problem.
Steps Taken: I've double-checked the assembly instructions to ensure I haven't missed any steps.
Any advice or suggestions on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated! Has anyone else encountered a similar problem during IKEA furniture assembly?

So did you guys end up finish building it and using it without needing to mount it to the wall?
I didn't end up mounting it to the wall due to the fact that we make furniture related videos so I might switch it out in a year or two. But if you intend to keep the chest in one place for a while or you have kids, then I would recommend securing it to the wall.
Followed the instructions and your tutorial with a Songesand 3 Drawer assembly - 2 of the 3 drawers wont open or close properly and have to be "forced" - they only open 3 inches before getting stuck?
Any ideas?

hi, we just bought the same ikea cupboard few days ago. I installed the full cupboard, everything looks good but the 2 small drawers cannot fit in.... Tired everything 😔don't know what went wrong. I checked your video too, to see if i made any mistake.. But i also did exactly like you.. Cannot figure out the issue. Please can you give any suggestion...?
I would recommend you start watching at 9:23. The biggest issue I noticed is that people make a mistake with the front drawer piece, which is at 9:38. There's one front drawer piece for the left small drawer and one for the right. Hopefully this will help you out.
Swap the top 2 drawers and it will be correct.

I've been thinking about ordering this exact dresser.... this is going to save me a ton of time... I'll come back to let y'all know how it went.
im in trouble because my top two drawers dont fit nicely at all! only one can slide in completely at a time. it leaves the other drawer standing out of place and i dont know what to do! i am NOT a carpenter. i am, however, very good at following instructions and assembling things. i followed the instructions perfectly and, yet, these top 2 drawers do not fit. its too snug by a few millimeters. i attempted the other drawers 3-6 and they fit perfectly and glide in and out easily. what gives?!?!
whoops! after playing around with it (or rather wrestling with it) for a while, i thought to switch the top drawers out. PROBLEM FIXED! ill leave this comment up just in case anybody else has this blooper.
