Again, Dr. White is correct. The Septuagint is used with the Masoretic text by the ESV in producing their translation. I believe the ESV has a superior OT product than other bibles.

If Bart Ehrman does not know that “Day of preparation” means “Friday” I will be stunned. If he is a leading critic on New Testament manuscripts/scriptures and doesn’t know this: I WILL BE APPALLED. If he does know this and continues to use this as grounds for contradiction in the gospels, that is incredible.

Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

    • @THJSTrickshots
      @THJSTrickshots Před rokem

With all due respect, and I believe that God is sovereign over his creation and plans everything that comes to pass, but the context of Ecclesiastes seems to make it clear it's talking about recurrence. The idea of "nothing new under the sun"

@21:00 AMEN The 'Bedikat Gamets' - introductory meal and search for and removal of leaven WOULD have followed and ensuing bonfire the following daylight, were it not God's providential "BONE DAY THAT SELFSAME DAY", for "Christ Our Passover" to be "KILLED", that "first day" of the "three days thick darkness" of the last two plagues in Egypt. The usual / normal 'passover-meal' of "unleavened bread with the flesh THAT NIGHT" Exodus 12:8 never occurred "At the First Night" John 19:39 - because of "Christ Our Passover" to be "BURIED according to the Custom - Law / Torah / Exodus / Leviticus SCRIPTURE of the Jews to bury", "That Selfsame NIGHT to be solemnly observed" - "BONE_DAY_NIGHT" 'etsem yohm'.

    @25:50 KJ translates WRONGLY.
    The truth,
"They asked because it was the Preparation (Friday) beginning
    because they did not want
    [ἵνα μὴ]
    to have bodies hanging
    on THE sabbath
BECAUSE That Day was great day
    of the sabbath-OF...
    the *-
the day of .. the feast of unleavened bread feast and
"fifteenth day of the month ye shall EAT the passover .
the flesh . WITH unleavened bread".
"That Day" - "was" : NOT KJ, although "That ('great day' / 'high day') Day was ... on the sabbath" on which the Jews asked, "IT BEING / SINCE IT WAS [epei ehn] the Preparation" as Mark defines is, "which is the Fore-Sabbath".

@19:00 I know on what you base and make your claim, I have been SHOWING you this for 45 years with reference to Translation of the Gospels; and I have been showing you this same thing more specifically with reference to RECENT BIBLE CONCORDANCES AND LEXICONS especially IT ‘sources’ like “Strong’s’. Let me spell it out: You ALL AND EVERYONE of you theological supermen BETTER THAN THE SCRIPTURES commentators on the Scriptures, say, Jesus was buried on the same day before sunset the same day BECAUSE YOU ALL FELL FOR Walter Bauer and Brigade that John 19:14 is the same ‘Preparation’ that is in Mark 15:42 Matthew 27:57 John 19:31,38 and Luke 23:50.
Now until “The Preparation OF THE PASSOVER” has been proven with Scripture the same as “The Preparation which is The Fore-Sabbath” (Friday) AND HAS THUS BEEN CHANGED from what stands Written into what is DELIBERATE DECEIT of Antichrist - until then, HEAR! Jesus was NOT Buried the same day before sunset the same day, but was Buried the day AFTER He had been Crucified and had Died, and He Resurrected “the day which is after the Preparation which is the Fore-Sabbath - the third day (of the passover’s “three days thick darkness”) the third day HE SAID: I WILL RISE : Sabbath mid-afternoon towards the First Day (Sunday).”
Here I stand. I cannot deny God’s Word. I will not retract any accusation against Antichrist and cohorts. SO HELP ME GOD.

John's and Mark and Matthew and Luke's --
    John 19:12c-15
Whoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
    When Pilate therefore heard
that saying, he brought Jesus forth
in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14 And it was the preparation of the passover
and ...the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold, your King.
Then, they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him.
    λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Πειλᾶτος Τὸν Βασιλέα ὑμῶν σταυρώσω;
Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King?
The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
    John 19:16a
Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified.
    Mark 15:15
    And then Pilate delivered Jesus,
when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
    Matthew 27:26
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and Jesus
when he had scourged (him), he delivered him to be crucified.

    Luke 23:24,25
And Pilate then gave sentence that it should be as they required.
but then nevertheless delivered Jesus to their will.
    Matthew 27:27-31a
Then the soldiers of the governor
took Jesus into the common hall and gathered
unto him the whole band. 28 And they stripped him, and
put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And when they had platted a crown
of thorns, they put it upon his head: and a reed
in his right hand: And they bowed the knee before him,
and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews.
And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head.
And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him,
and put his own raiment on him . . .
    Mark 15:16-20a
And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called
praetorium; and they called together the whole band.
And they clothed him with purple, and plated a crown of thorn,
and put it about his head
and began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit on him,
and bowing their knees worshipped him.
And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him,
