After burying Luffy under a mountain of mochi, Katakuri believes he won and calls his chefs, who bring snacks for him to feast on. Katakuri makes a shrine where he can eat in private. Luffy breaks out of the mochi he was buried under and shattered the shrine, exposing Katakuri's face. Katakuri then executes the chefs before resuming his attempts to kill Luffy

People never hated katakuri, like never. He isn't annoying like other villains like BB or Sakazuki. He's a perfect example of a "badass character" He can either be bad or a good person. Just don't, DON'T ever mess with his brothers and sisters.

No, this is a common misconception, Kata has never nor will ever be self conscious or insecure about anything but he feels the need to put up a perfect facade to protect his family and he only began covering his teeth due to some assholes who slashed Brulees face after they were beaten up by Kata for making fun of his face. He's never been self-conscious but he needed to put up a perfect facade to protect his family and that's why he covered his face which honestly makes Kata an even better character in my opinion as he decided that instead of enjoying himself 24/7 he would rather put up a facade to protect his family.

Not in this way. The type of building that he made was a shrine and for him his teatime is something sacred. The western equivalent of that would be a church but that would be too large as well as the symbolic behind it would be different. You enter churches but the main part of the shrines are forbidden to enter unless your'e a priest because that's where the "god" in this case Katakuri resides.

I actually like it that way, like, if all of them names like Miyazaki, or Shengiro, it wouldnt sell as well the idea of being an epic adventure all around the world, like Dressrossa could be based on Spain, Water 7 in Italy, Drum Kingdom in Canada, Tequila Wolf in Russia, Wano is obviously Japan, etc.

Katakuri is much like En from Dorohedoro. Their powers may sound funny and stupid on paper (Manipulating Mochi for Katakuri and mushrooms for En) but both have utilized it very well that they've become overpowered. Well, Katakuri has mastered haki so he's a bit different than En.
