@genon70 Couldn't but agree more. Having just watched the episode when the son shows up in Cicily, I appreciate that they went the lighter route. Wouldn't have loved this scene, and waay out of character for the show, IMO.
That scene was over the top, even for Northern Exposure. I do think that Maurice should have told Soon Ni to never speak her father's name when he gave his permission.
