Once you know how to set up your pop up camper, check my video out on how to get it ready for camping: czcams.com/video/kNJCtBE3rcw/video.html
Lots of work to set up. After watching this I'm more interested in a non pop-up trailer.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I'm about to get one of these and didn't know how involved it was.
The best pop up set up learning video!! Step by step orders! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Very well equipped pop-up! I believe it was Coleman in the early 80's made a HUGE pop-up that had a bathroom with actual hard fold up walls and a door! It was quite nice for a tent trailer! I've always had clas a but my next RV will be a van for sure! Ease of use and not having to worry about will I fit or will I be able to turn around if I encounter a dead end!
Great video
Thanks!
Nice day there!
If you have swing-out stabilizers in the back rather then the scissor type, you have to drop the tongue down first to get them deploy without having them hit the ground as they swing out. Then you level it back to front.
Thanks for the videos! Really leaning a lot about my new pop-up. Quick question… have you guys made a video for proper take down? I’m particularly interested in how to correctly fold over the canvas from the slide outs. Thanks again for the sick videos!!
Not yet. I don't think there is a "correct" way to fold your canvas and the way we fold our canvas has changed over the years as we've changed campers. In our starcraft for example, the canvas was permanently attached on the end, however, this is not the case with the Jayco, which dictates how the canvas can be folded. The big thing is just to keep it out of the bed slides - lol.
Thirty easy steps. Do I detect drone footage? Cool!
Hello, my name is Mike. My wife and I live in Kansas City and are new to the pop-up camping phenomenon. We love going canoeing in the summer and look forward to using our new home away from home. Have loved watching your videos to give us ideas on what to and what not to do. I have one question for you for now. We have a 2005 starcraft centennial that we bought used and are trying to make sure everything's working so we can take it camping in October down in Texas. The first thing that I've noticed it's missing is the tension wire that you use when raising the roof to make sure it's up where it should be. Could you tell me where I can get one or if I could just make one? Where and how it's supposed to be attached to the roof and the side of the camper? How long it should be etc? That's the only question I have right now. But I'm sure you'll be hearing from me again that's we're newbies. Thanks for all the helpful information that you and your wife have provided on your channel.
Sincerely, Michael Lawrence
Miss seeing your videos is there more to come?
Love watching your videos! The wife and I just purchased a 2021 rockwood freedom 2318g last summer, and the ine thing I wish we had was the 2nd support bars ours only has the 2 and we had to bring it back to have ine of the brackets replaced cause it bent. Also do you have any issues with the stabilizer Jack's coming "loose" persay I usually have to tighten mine on the door side a 2nd time the following day and I'm assuming it's from the slide-out?! Keep up the awesome videos love watching them!
How is your slide out dinette? Ours is pretty unlevel. We just bought it so calling the dealer tomorrow.
Love the videos! My husband and I purchased one this weekend and the owners walked through putting it down but did not say anything about the zippers or Velcro. Nice to know you probably unvelcro and unzip it before putting down.
I would love to see a take down video if you would be up for it! :)
Thanks for the videos!
Yes me too because I recently purched a used pop up
Do you have a video that has more info on the grey water hookup container you have? Also I saw on another an blow out attachment for blowing water out? I've been searching for a what to do after camping. How do you empty cassette toilet, what to do with grey water? We went on our first trip but didn't use the water because I couldn't find anything on how to do that. You have great videos. Keep up the good work.
No, we dont have a video on winterizing - yet! As far as gray water and black water, we dump it at the dump station on our way out.
Do you know where I can get that door clasp at? I have looked all over for those. When we bought our Starcraft it was broken.
I have the same one. I have a power pop up, heard a loud bang underneath as I went to raise it, and now it wont move... do you think its just the cable coming off
the pulley?
Side note, my son was to unclasp it, he undolded them but never took them off.
Cable is tight, isnt broken, motor jist wont move. All fuses are good and battery is good.
Quick question should I unzip bunk ends before and after I have a 2006 StarCraft 3604. Thank you
Question.. Our used camper (same one as yours) came without the bar seen at @3:54 in the video.. Do you know what this bar is called? How to possibly get a replacement, or an alternative? Not having it seriously compromised the integrity of the bed on that side of the camper.. Thanks!
Where do you buy the shower curtains?? Ours didn't come with any...
I’m trying to reattach my tension cable on my 2409. There are multiple holes there and I am putting a plate in there to do a proper job of attaching it. My question is what is the measurement between the box and the roof. Thanks
The van has an awesome layout.
Why "only when the roof is raised" do you put those down? Thanks!
Are there models with heat that will run off electric instead of propane?
I'm sure liking your content. I was just gifted an old popup and these videos are really helping me learning tons. The question is what do you level the camper with. I think you mention the scissor jacks are not for leveling but for support.
Correct, we use a BAL leveler for leveling left to right. Hard to find right now, but there are alternatives out there.
@@ItsPoppin Thanks for the quick reply and all the work you! Blessing brother.
I always put the stabilizers down before putting the top up.
Thank you for this video! I wish you had shown how, and when to level the camper. Seems so many videos just mention it, but don't really show how, and exactly when to level it.
Not your fault, but dealer walk throughs aren't that great. They only show you the tool to use to put the stabilizers in place. They don't really show how to level, where to place the blocks, or where it's right before or after leveling. May seem like a dumb question, but we have never had, or help set up a camper. Thanks again!
The first thing we do after unhooking the pop up from the tow vehicle is leveling. As a matter of practice, we level front to back first, then side to side utilizing our BAL leveler.
We’ve been thinking about doing a video testing the various types of leveling methods for side to side leveling.
So when you take the trailer down do you just do everything in reverse, crank down with the Bal leveler still in place, but just make sure the stabilizers are up? Or should I remove the ball leveler before I crank it down? I think I just did everything in reverse... I hope so. I know I had my stabilizers backup before I cranked it down. Not sure if I removed the leveler before, or after I cranked it down though. In my defense it was my first time in a long time and doing it solo at 57. It went up like a dream with the leveler... as I was very lucky to find a brand-new Bal leveler not too far away from me here in British Columbia. Someone had an extra one for sale that was brand new. I was able to have it shipped to me for the very reasonable price of $130, with $50 of it being shipping charges. It works great and they seem very hard to find right now. I have learned so many great things from watching your channel so thank you very much!
Thanks, glad you were able to find a BAL leveler. I always leave the BAL leveler for last, but definitely make sure the stabilizers are up before you take down the BAL leveler.
I think it's great to have those extra support bars under the sliding beds! Most pop ups only have 2, which is a bit odd to me.
Thanks for the video.
Yeah, I agree! The palomino we are renovating only has two on each bed and they don't seem as stable.
Love your vids. Lots of great info for a new popper like me. 😀. I have the same Starcraft 2409 but it did not come with the 2 sets of bars under each bunk. I have only the 2 single flattened bars. Is it possible to have you sketch up the measurements for the hinged support bars you have there? Thanks. Keep up the great vids
Yes, I will try not to forget the next time we get it out. What year is yours?
Thanks. It’s a 2005 but it looks the same as your 2008 in regard of the supports. Also just discovered that the Thetford C4 black water holding tank is missing. 😖. Not sure where I can get one of those ? Any ideas ?
Email us at itspoppincampers@gmail.com. I will send you some photos and measurements.
I just bought a 2010 StarCraft 1019 I set it up today and worked on it all day I just realized I didn’t put my door down, so I proceeded to put it down it is a whole door well I never could get it it took me forever when I finally did the Velcro went good on one side but it didn’t reach the other side then I noticed that the bottom half but a half inch from the door the body of the camp I’m talking about so I called the fellow that I bought it from and he told me what to do and I had already done all of that so I don’t know what else to do can you please help me please, thanks
i need help with finding a left motor for my camper can you please help me
New owner of a Coleman pop up and it does not have the safety lift arm supports. Can not find where to buy them? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for all the helpful video's!!
No need for them on a Coleman.
missing is the tension wire as well,,, Where and how it's supposed to be attached to the roof and the side of the camper? How long it should be etc?
Really depends on the make and model
I have a very similar Starcraft camper. What is the material of the tent called? I don't think it is canvas and it is definitely different then the vinyl tops. What do you use to clean it?
I believe it's called aqualon. If you're just doing a light clean, water/soap or water/woolite along with a soft bristle brush. Rinse and dry.
If you want to do a deep clean, check out this video: czcams.com/video/lRxeS06sHDI/video.html
Im new to a popup do i need a battery if im hooked up to shore power
Nope
I saw during the set up that your side walls were unzipped , so you always store it away with all the tent unzipped ?
On the StarCraft, yes. On the Jayco, for example, we’re able to get away with keeping them zipped.
Where can I purchase this lift arm supports? I can’t find them.
Try Goshen stamping
Thank you for making me realize I do not want a pop up lol
Did you say in another vidro this takes 25-30 to do it all??
I have to reconsider my plans because doing this set up and break down daily for the different sites will be to much I think!! I don't think you should stay somewhere just one day with all this work
I hope you understand my heart. I mean no harm. I'm just a newbie doing my research and making plans.
Question, do you have permanent tags?? In my state they are 80 and yearly is 20. Permanent seems like the better deal!
Yeah, it would be a lot to set up and take down everyday. I'm not sure what you mean by tags?
@@ItsPoppin think she meant the license plate registration
Grace, I'm sure Poppin' is just trying to give us all a general understanding of popups. I own a popup and i would never get one with a slide out or a bathroom. That's just me.
I'm picking up a nearly brand new popup tomorrow. I'm 63 and have owned popups in the past. This is my best choice for campers since it needs to fit in our garage and I didn't want to feel cramped in a teardrop. (We have an HOA.) The last time I tent camped it was about a one hour setup at the campsite, another hour to break camp the next day. Taking my time, not playing beat the clock. I think this will be the same, maybe quicker, since my Viking's roof is easily raised by a power screwdriver. Same for stabilizers. And there are no bed posts or using shoulders to put them in; the beds *click* by aircraft cables on the inside. Plus there are Andersen levelers that make that chore a snap. So those few things do alleviate the work somewhat. Guess I'll find out this weekend when I set it up in our driveway.
I greatly appreciate your videos for the subject having recently bought a used pop up myself. As well as, your product information and experiences of owning one. I've noticed one thing that might be hurting your channel subscriptions and most certainly the video view times. If you were writing a blog you wouldn't write the word UMMM after every other sentence nor should you say it in the videos. It renders them unwatchable for many people. Maybe you can edit the UMMMMs out of your older videos and try making voice over videos where you would have more control of the audio. I'm absolutely sure you notice an increase in video viewtime and subscribers. Good fortune to you and yours and thank you for the videos!
UMMM How about you figure it out yourself since you are so bothered. Hope not to see you in any campground. I will notice if I do, Have you ever noticed someone who gets knocked out does the UMM as they twitch on the floor. Happy camping. Hope to see you soon dalewpit!!
A stupid question does the caset toilet play caset tapes
Yes
