Can i use epoxy for ceiling concrete basin?
Was that stain concentrated or already diluted? Looks like you used no water and all stain? Love this color and curious to know exact ratios, please!
The waterbased concrete stain, mixed into the XS-327 sealer, was used at 'normal dilution' and only the stain was used in this video, no extra "plain old water" was used! Some of the water based stains we sell (Eco Stain) come in normal dilution already (4oz sample size bottles come this way) or they come in a concentrate (32oz bottle of concentrate that you add water to to make into 1 gallon). You should never plan to use the stains on concrete, or mixed into the XS-327 sealer, unless they are 'normal dilution', meaning you would turn the 32oz concentrate into a 1 gallon size first, then use that to stain, or mix with the sealer. XS-327 does require "water" to make it so you can apply it, and to make it cure.
Will this cover ghosting from the wire reinforcement?
It will cover over anything, with enough coats of the sealer. If your concrete is gray, there are a few 'gray' color stains to pick from but none will probably look exactly like your concrete gray does now. So as long as you are okay with the gray becoming a shade off (more silvery, or more dark gray) then this is a good way to hide rebar ghosting!
Do you know if the sealer will stick if you sand up to 400 or 800 or 1500 grit?
Not a great idea to polish/sand past 200 grit. XS-327 can adhere to a surface honed to 400 grit though. Still, a sealed surface sanded with 200 grit vs. a surface sanded with 400 grit, once the sealer is applied, both will look the same- so you might as well stop at 200 grit and ensure a better bond with the surface!
@@ExpressionsLTD Thanks! I was reading similar advice on other websites too.
@@ExpressionsLTD Question...When you say sealed then sanded to 200 grit what or how are you sealing it with before sanding? Can this be done on new, cured concrete without sealing it before sanding?
@@mikedelee142 Yes, you can stain bare concrete first, then just seal with clear, new sealer. Or if the surface is already sealed, then you need to sand that so the new sealer gets good adhesion with the old surface
