Randy Moss is my favorite person and athlete of all time. He always gave back to the community behind the scenes without seeking attention or recognition. The media treated him so unfairly just because he didn’t like doing interviews. I will always defend his legacy. Greatest of all time, Jerry Rice used stickum on his gloves throughout his career. We love you Randy!

Two of my favorites right here. I was one of the ones who followed Randy from way back. I grew up in WV. I first heard of him when he was in Jr High. I was following his brother Eric, who was a big time D1 prospect at TE. But the rumors were already: Wait until you see his younger brother. It wouldn't be long until he jumped on the scene. Next word of Randy came at the Charleston Malll. I was friendly with Varian Cunningham who knew Randy and his crew even though Varian went to Capital and Randy was at DuPont.
I first saw him play in the 1992 state championship game. Randy's team went up again the Brooke Bruins who'd been unscrored on all year. The field was a sheet of ice. Moss absolutely destroyed them. But that wasn't the highlight. The look of him, the way he moved. I knew that day and told everyone he'd be in the NFL HOF one day. It wasn't a prophecy. It was obvious.
Later after he won the Kennedy Award (the WV HS Heisman) I was in Parkersburg's Dils Center when he accepted that award.
Like everyone in the state I remember him in an orange jail jumpsuit on the local news and heard of the stories of wasted talent. Knowing some folks who knew him I never lost faith in that he'd make it or that he was a good person. He was at least mildly hated in much of the state, for his brushes with the law but even more because he never considered WVU. I didn't care in the least. If I had that level of talent and had been treated the way he often was in WV I'd have gone to Notre Dame as well.
Continuing to watch his ascension (none of which was a surprise) at Marshall and later in the NFL was among the most enjoyable football moments/storylines of my life. Thanks, Randy!
And then I moved to Boston for Grad school, so you can imagine my excitement when he was with my hometown crew catching balls from the GOAT.
And finally, I was at the Brady's Patriots HOF induction, and started cheering and yelling wildly when the HS kid from WV took the stage. I too cried when the whole crowd went crazy for two solid moments. The whole time I was thinking back to the early 1990's in WV so long and so far away.
My life is good, too. We made it, Randy. Thanks for all the joy you brought.

I think New England patriot could win more championships , with Randy Moss , they just don’t know how to talk or use him , He’s the best WR all time , no one can stopped him from catching the ball every game , there is no weakness in his performance
