    Lighting fires in the nature reserve is prohibited. Not sure if it was the case in 2018 but most certainly not allowed now.

    I remember that low tide crossing at #7:03 very well. That whole 1-2 km part is probably the worst part of the entire Hornstrandir peninsula... you're basically crossing slippery rocks the entire time. By the end of it, your feet are blistered.

      @@balazsgyurak4551 it's not a "crossing" - it's a low-tide-only route from Furufjordur to Bolungarvik. It has slippery seaweed, and if you fall, you fall on sharp rocks. During high tide, the water goes up to the fjord, and it's impassable. Don't even try going on high tide - better wait it out in the emergency shelter which is right next to the "start" of this section.
      To avoid it, go from Hrafnfjordur to Bolungarvik via the mountains, if you can't make the low tide crossing.
      Also, your whole trip will get spoiled if the weather is bad, which is more likely than not. Good luck.
