Hmm, the emblems in the rear are not in it’s right places. 9-3 should be on the left and 2.0T on right side. Look for old damages in the rear. Maybe someone crashed into it from behind...
So as for security access into the car itself, you're going to need TIS2000. This is the only program outside of the dealer that allows access into the car but it runs on Windows XP ONLY. You need to create Virtual Machine which runs XP on newer computers and then you will be able to download and install TIS2000 which will grant you security access. Hope this helps and gives you sort of a lead and if you need anymore info let me know.
And TIS2000 will also work with the Chinese knock offs as of my experience. So you should be good.
That's the jubileum/anniversary-special model, Ice Blue-metallic color and the two tone seats, also anniversary edition wheels. 60 years of turbocharged thinking.
These wheels are form the 20th anniversary.
here a Magazine filmed mine:
czcams.com/video/B8WKyuDPAAo/video.html
normale i ride on Hirsch wheels.
@@RoBruy Yes, as I said, they are anniversary wheels. the 60 years jubileum had different wheels.
@@Jonttuk230 the convertible in my comment has the right wheels (60th Anniversary)
Good job bro. That's the most beautiful color on saab! 👍
Man !! That is a Winner - Those 9-3's are nice cars - Love the Channel - I have a 07 saab 9-5(stage 1) 93(classic) 900 Convertible - Love my Saabs
Right on! thank you!
Fuel pump replacement on the NG9-3's isn't the worst but isn't exactly a breeze. Totally doable in a driveway (I've done 2 that way). To do the job right definitely need to drop the tank. You'll hack the cars floor if you attempt to cut an "access hole". Jack the rear of the car as high as possible and have multiple jackstands in place to securely hold it up. Most annoying part about the job is removing parts of the exhaust to maneuver the tank down. Obviously you'll want the least amount of fuel as possible in the tank too so there's less weight to deal with. Regardless, a floor jack under helps to slowly lower it.
Based on miles I would replace the entire fuel pump assembly and you'll get just about everything you need. I ended up just replacing my fuel float and did everything for well under 100 bucks (with no special tools) and still no issues 3yrs later. Everything I bought = Dorman #911-016 float assembly with seal + Dorman
#800-023 fuel clips (used the three 3/8 clips) and Dorman #800-041 fuel clips (used one 5/8 clip on the connector to the charcoal canister). Best of luck. Email me at Weakestofweeks@gmail.com if you need additional guidance.
Great stuff! Thank you for the input. How long did it take you?
Nice Saab, looking forward to the project! On my 1999 9-3 I cut a hole under the rear seat myself to replace the fuel pump. No issues in the 8 years since but probably not the recommed and proper way.
Wow man I'm looking forward to this one same as our 2007 saab 9-3 anniversary saloon
Thank you!!
Helpful video. Test driving a 2007 9-3 Vert tomorrow
As for the scanner, perhaps a blue drive might be good.
I also have a 2007 SAAB 9 3 convertible. Copart special at $1,800! Only 82,000 miles and a blast to drive!
You need security access via an old Windows XP laptop with Global TIS2000 to get into s 9-3SS. Does your Tech2 have a Candi box? Bc for the 9-5 that should be all you need
Might not be control arm bushing. Check the CV joints. An easy fix. You can pop off old CV axle and get it remanufactured or buy an OEM replacement. If it’s the control arm then just buy an OEM from esaabparts, which is cheaper than replacing bushings.
Yes the axle pops off with a couple of hard pulls. Take off strut to get best access. 😇 But be careful since drivers side axle slot is into transmission and trans fluid will leak out.
Kyle, Black Friday!!! I’ll see you there!! I’ll inform the Chicago Saab Group and Milwaukee Saab guys as well!! Hope the weather holds out.
The word has been passed. Hope there’s a uge turnout
Awesome!!! Looking forward!
I was just watching some video on the tech 2 and there is an add on you need for I believe 2006 and up for it to work. You need tech 2 with candi
My previous convertible was ice blue. Great colour, but it was a diesel. Now have a steel grey (279) 1.8t
Hey man, i dont see the CanDi module connected to your tech2 ! Is it ?
Agree, need the candi module on this year of Saab
Love my OG 9-3 CV, but I do like the NGs, too. Too bad this one's an AT, but it's still a fun car. Nearing 100k mi, I may have FP issue as well, also
same old damage on side, so
looking forward to this project car.
Gotta drop my 9-5 tank soon also as we almost have 100k mi. Just want to be proactive with replacing the fuel pump b4 it breaks... Looking forward to your video on dropping the tank.
on the 9-5 you should be able to access the fuel pump by lifting up the rear seat. no need to drop the tank
@@TJ_Hack3r Hey Travis, Are you sure this will work for the 06+ 9-5's? Thx!
I think the 06+ is not the same as the OG95 1999-2005.
@@Texmotodad Hmmm not sure about after 06. It's easy enough to check though. lift up the bottom of the rear seat, and see if there is a circular cutout in the carpet
edit: looks like they did change the design. But i checked the WIS and they do not mention removing the tank

@@TJ_Hack3r Thx Travis!
Nice convertible! Having a headliner in a drop-top is the way to go, especially in colder environments.
I have a 2005 9-3 Arc. Last June I replace the fuel pump because the fuel gauge quit working, but the car ran fine. So I replace the fuel pump by dropping the tank. I saw a CZcams video that a "shadetree" mechanic used a cutoff wheel to cut a hole in the floor below the rear seat. No way would I cut up my car for that. In my home town, I can rent time on a 2-post lift at a shop for $20/hr. 5 hours later I was done. The shop had a hydraulic transmission lift which helped in the removal and installation of the fuel tank. Could it be done in the driveway on your back? Sure, if you're young enough! :-)
Down side was 6 months and 1800 miles later, the Delphi fuel pump failed AGAIN! So I replaced it again. Would an OEM pump last longer? Who knows?
Hahaha! I think i could pull it off on the driveway lol....good to know about that failure!
Cool car! Looking forward to the series. Missing power steering cap.... that's pretty weird!
Take the valve cover off, check for SLUDGE
I just bought a 2007 Saab 9-3 convertible and I am loving it. I am hoping you could help me find a way to make another key? It only came with one. I live in ct and would love to know of a place I can make one. Awesome videos. They are very helpful.
Great car great color! Hopefully not to much work. Need some tlc 😍
I've heard of people accessing the fuel pump by cutting a hole in the floor under the rear seats and then fashioning a plate to seal it up again afterwards. I might not attempt it on my car, but... I know it's been done before by someone. Gotta be careful with how deep you cut :-O
Good luck with the convertible, it will be super. Greetings from Sweden
Cool car. After your metamorphosis, it will look even more beautiful.😍👍
for the tech 2, do you have the TIS software set up on a computer?
also, I will definitely be there on the black friday meet
Awesome! Look forward to meeting you.
I don't have the software. I believe stuff came with it though
@@KylePancis yeah, basically you need to setup the TIS2000 software on a computer with Windows XP. It could be on an old computer or on a virtual machine like VirtualBox. this is how it works on the genuine tech2 as well. The TIS software is used to certify security clearance to reprogram things in the car.
Beautiful car, and do you offer services with your tech2?? I live in the area as well and my lights are always on, in my 06 saab 9-3 2.0T. Heard I need a tech 2 to fix that.
Nice!!! Love that color too.
I have the same car! Well only mine is fusion blue
How many miles?
@@KylePancis 133k, runs like a champ
Pin pon... Pin pon..my fuel pump gauge does read the level of gas but as soon im taking off ..(.poing) reads empty i notice this at 90, 000 miles but the car runs no problem putting gas.. I have a 05 saab 9-3 just like this one on your video the only difference are the rims, the radio the air conditioner and the sid is in the center. Might be missin the steering fluid cap because there might be an issue on the power steering .
sounds like you will need to drop the fuel pump at some point soon too!
So i went to turn the car on a this loud electric Buzzzz sounded. When i started the car i can hear 3 places in the passanger seat door on the main fuse box relax and then a soffly alarm beep...?
I notice that whatever it is after turning the car off keys out the cd player sounds from the back and like tru the speakers something makes a sound and i can hear a click on the trunk by the fuses thats wherevit ends. I checked how much a shop will charge for the fuel pump this is not the dealership. Labor n parts $700 .. Fuel pump and filted 300 in labor 400 bucks im damn. I live in califofnia but even still....

The link below ( page 7-10 )shows how to install a parking heater but also how to disassemble the fuel tank. Maybe not super good instructions but hopefully they provide some support to you;
