Ladas are great cars for people who want a car that will run forever and don't have a huge amount of money to keep it on the road. Fantastic cars. But your method of getting into the car could have been better, just get a can of deicer and spray it around the car door this will melt the ice and you can get in the car with ease.
Yes, but when people speak of block heaters for their cars or trucks, they're almost always referring to either dealer-installed or Canadian-tire bought oil pan heaters.

Its true! Now anyone trying to sell me one is asking for $20 and A FULL SANDWICH! It used to only be $10 and half a sandwhich, then this channel got the word out and prices has skyrocketed! Hahahaha
Yes they are from the city of Novosibirsk. One of the numbers of their region placed on the license plates of cars is 54. For this reason the channel is called Garage 54.
Same, their temperatures are pretty extreme compared to Australia but then we do get 40 degree days where in some cars you would probably worry about overheating.
That battery thermo pack is a really good idea for cars that operate in extremely cold climates. I live in the northeast of the US and the coldest temperatures that we've seen here so far this winter is about 28 degrees fahrenheit. The coldest temperatures I have ever experienced here was back in the winter of 2014 and 2015 when we were exposed to a "polar vortex" and the temperatures were in the -15 to -25 range with a wind chill of close to -30 Fahrenheit. All of our oilfield heavy trucks were gelled up and the fuel lines were frozen. Back in February of 2010 we got 28 inches of snow overnight and I drove my 1995 Cadillac Deville to work that day. People were stuck everywhere.
covering the car with large amounts of water to create the ice is also called a blanket. it actually blocks the cold weather out. They should have left it dry as could be to test it.
mercedes diesels > any lada ever The russian guy in video noted that a "Late model mercedes" wouldnt be able to perform this task, nothing beats the older 4 and 5 cylinder mercedes diesels
I really like these guys and their channel.Im just pointing out that once ice or snow forms at 32degrees F or 0 degrees C generally it doesn't get colder . So in essence the ice is helping to keep the entire car at exactly the freezing point. Something I probably wouldn't have thought of St the time either.qa
Lassi Kinnunen my wax can be applied near sub zero temps and last almost 3 weeks in winter, you can do it lol we do it in heated car wash bays in Canada and it is worth it as my car is so slippery keeping it wet during washing is difficult lol
Saved or Slaved yeah. Have you ever wonder why water in a lake doesn’t freeze under the ice? Or why Eskimos used to build igloos? Air is what’s really cold, especially air in movement. There’s a lot of factors that goes in like if you put ice around something already cold it will not get warmer, but it will keep the heat in.
Nope. We did it to a friends VW beetle one year in Virginia. One winter in the early 90's we got about 4-6 inches of ice all over. Got in lots of trouble
Your battery temperature check doesn't count because you left the engine running while you got the hood open. That warmed everything up. We still have no actual indication of how effective your sponsors' thermal case actually is.
I don’t see this being that much of an issue, insulation works both ways and we had proof that the heating pads where working, that’s enough for me anyways, does what it describes.
@@ApolloTheDerg I thought these heating pads, will work constantly, there is no use of them, if they dont heat the battery constantly during the night.
Lada is Bilt Russian Winters I live in Edmonton when it's a minus 35 for months on end Lada always starts it's an amazing how this car is so reliable in the cold
why does spraying water on a car cool it down more? if it is being frozen by ambient temperature, the ice is an insulator, it would help the engine warm up faster, and is therefore completely meaningless to this experiment, most likely actually negating the issue the thermal casing is trying to solve by trapping excess engine heat, rendering it clickbait
