- The city of Mystras is a medieval Greek ghost town, which saw its heyday in the period from the 13th to the 15th century. Today, it’s mostly abandoned-except for a small community of very hospitable nuns. Historian Bettany Hughes takes us on an exploratory stroll.

I love Ancient Greece and the old time and love learning about them they shaped our world
00:08 it's nice to see reporter/correspondent with pair of big hearts.
Yessss
What an absolutely beautiful place :)
Of course an old wine drinking nun in a house full of cats is wise.
We knew that.
Stunning….
This would be fantastic to see and talk with the inhabitants
Wow, that's amazing 🙂
My step-neice went to Greece.
She took pictures. They looked very beautiful indeed.
Great assets
A kitten in my lap, talking philosophy with Orthodox nuns would be my idea of happiness too.
I love that Nun, she's like yo, you like cats?
Come in my house and have some of this blood of jesus.
Just wondering, this looks like part of a docu, where is the rest?
For clarity and historical accuracy, Mystras as you see it, thrived in the middle ages during the Byzantine Empire Times.
Greece is stunning, but you really need to rent a car in order to see all the many sights in various parts of the country.
He\s very cute cat
Nun for me thank you.
😊
Kikis
why no tourists?
There are tourists. Just not the hoardes you find at the islands - thank God for that. On that note, I haven't been to this monastery and I go on summer holidays close to that place.
