  • Billie Joe Shaver shares memories of how he and ‪@waylonjennings2450‬ initially came to collaborate - a process that included promises, threats, and eventually, a spate of songs on Jennings's revered 1973 album "Honky Tonk Heroes."
Hear from Shaver here, and learn more about the two Outlaw country figures (and others) in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's major exhibition “Outlaws & Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ’70s,” open through June 5, 2022: countrymusichalloffame.org/ex...

God broke the mold when he made that old boy. Shaver is one of a kind. I took it awful hard when we lost him and Waylon.

This guy could tell a story about a crap he took in 1974 and it would be entertaining to hear.

Love this story, it changes a little everytime I hear it, but this is BJS himself tellin it, so I'll take it as gospel. Waylon's version was the same, cept the "I'm gonna kick yo ass" part happened outside the building, but don't matter much, loved um both, so either is the gospel to this Ol' cowboy 🤠👍
