Bishop's Sapping Strike will come in handy for a handful of situations later in the game, but otherwise it's not useful in normal combat.
And unless you get really lucky , those character skill upgrade pieces of equipment are not worth hanging onto.
In my second game I got all three categories of equipment with a +3 to Gambit's Card Shuffle by the end of Act 3.
    That was a rarity.
Sadly , after nearly 300 fresh start games of this game , I've only gotten a significant number of useful pieces of those types of equipment about a dozen times.
The ones for a character's best skill are worth keeping , like Mag's Shrapnel Sentry or Nightcrawler's Teleport Frenzy.

I love the jungle environment this act brought. I think Legends 2 did better of the two with its level design. Not perfect, but better.

How do you feel about the difficulty scaling for this game vs. the previous?

This game has been much easier overall, but it has been getting consistently more difficult. The Nuwali temple is the first area where any of the enemies have made me start sweating. The first game was all over the place, some levels were super unforgiving and then the next level would be a cakewalk you just steamroll through.

The inactive characters will lag a lot farther behind your active team in levels as you progress in this game.
In the first game there isn't such a large difference between inactive and active character levels.
If you play the same team the whole game , they would be around level 45 ( without any XP bonuses active) and the inactive characters would be around level 35 at the end of the game.
