God this is so beautiful yet oddly eerie at the same time, like many in the comments have stated before, the distant droning of bells and other instruments mixed in with this is just so… I don’t know how to put it without making an unintentional pun
But beyond that, Shiver’s absolutely gorgeous! The ice blue works really well for her! Not gonna lie, part of the reason why I chose her team is cause her design for this fest has me in a chokehold, I love all things that have to do with winter, the cold, ice etc. so yeah, hit me where I was weak with this one
Am I the only one slightly put off by these new themes? Its such a weird feeling to me. The music isn't necessarily creepy or sad, it's kinda just strange. The faint droning instruments you can barely hear in the background, combined with the occasional echoes of bells gives me such a strange feeling I can't describe
I feel the same way. Its such an interesting direction to go for the christmas theme, it evokes such an.. offputting vibe. And thats not to say it sounds bad, like it sounds really pretty, but like you said, its hard to describe. Personally, the way ive interpreted it, is that it’s supposed to be this “looking back on the year” typa vibe. It’s kind of like this “sad the year is over, but happy the new year is here,”because it doesnt necessarily sound more happy than sad/sad than happy. It also ends off hopeful sounding in a way, so i guess that could be interpreted as hope for whatever is to come in the next year. But anyway im definitely looking far too much into this plaza base that less than 1% of the player base will notice during the splatfest. The background song in this video plays in the plaza, and is the “plaza base.” Bird and snake mix have versions specifically made to fit that plaza base song, so, this is official!
Differences here being the song being stripped of a chunk of its instrumental, and the difference with snake mix is mainly a change in its bassline with some other tweaks to the instrumental.
