Not to be confused with the Plane Train in the main terminal, the ATL SkyTrain is the 1.5-mile / 2.4 kilometer people mover connecting to the Rental Car Center, opened in 2009.
Six sets of two fully-automated Crystal Movers run 24/7,
crossing Interstate 85 and the MARTA South Yard with one intermediate stop at the
Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) and Gateway
Center Arena, the ATL West parking garage and a litany of hotels nearby. Voiced by Sharon Feingold, the SkyTrain is powered by a third rail,
reaching speeds of 40 mph or 64 km/h. Doors open on your left side,
if you’re facing the direction of travel, with onboard maps showing the full route.
